Guest globifer
Hey all, I have a problem with my vfr rc46 Last march I had to change my regulator rectifier because it wasn´t giving enough power anymore. after changing it, the new regulator broke after only about 400km already. that cooked my battery and before I knew it I was by the roadside. Anyway, I changed the battery and the regulator again. now the bike won´t start anymore! I followed my maintenance book and figured that the cdi was broken. I changed it however and still nothing is happening! When I turn on the ignition I can´t hear the fuelpump running!? Can it be that with overcharging the fuelpump relay gives in? I don´t feel like ´just changing parts anymore by following the handbook. It´s costing quite some money when it proves that it´s something else. :( Any good suggestions are very welkom Globifer

Guest
Then I think at least the fuel pump should start running when I turn on the ignition, wouldn´t it? Globifer
Member Contributer kaldek Posted July 21, 2012 Member Contributer Share Posted July 21, 2012 Check your 30 amp fuse coming from the battery. Power must pass through this fuse for the ECU to power up.
Guest
Thanks kaldek, it was that one together with a molten wire to the ecu. fixed it and now she runs! only thing left now seems that I can´t kill the engine anymore! woehahaha! little more left to figure out then ! ;) globifer
Member Contributer kaldek Posted July 23, 2012 Member Contributer Share Posted July 23, 2012 it was that one together with a molten wire to the ecu. Wow - can you tell me what the colour of that molten wire was? It's very strange that you can't kill the engine anymore. Does turning the key off work, or is the problem just with the kill switch? Guest
turning key of won´t work, kill switch won´t work (but bike won´t start with the key in the off position) speedometer doesn´t work anymore and neither does the rpm meter! I am shutting the bike down now by kicking the sidestand out when it´s in gear! Green wire, i think it was just a ground gone bad that gave up at overcharge. i had to change the ecu after all because she was giving a full short cut. now I have the electrical issue? I am thinking it has something to do with the wiring harnes to different connections, can´t find anything on the net about it though?
Member Contributer kaldek Posted July 30, 2012 Member Contributer Share Posted July 30, 2012 Wow that's some seriously messed up problems. I think you need a new wiring harness! You can find them on eBay quite cheap - well under $100 usually.
