Cutting The Stock Windscreen

Question

I'd like to cut down my stock windscreen, maybe take a few inches off the top. I know I've seen it posted here but I keep coming up empty when I use the search function. Can anyone lend a hand? I'm looking for any pics of what it looks like, especially the edge after cutting. Also any hints or tips for getting it done. I'm guessing measure, mask off the cut, and go to town with a band saw. I don't have access to a band saw, so maybe an alternate method?

I just want to be sure before I start hacking bits off wink.gif

TIA!

I haven't done this, but I've seen plexiglass cut and polished before. The edge can look pretty good if you want to put some effort into it. If you sand it just right and then buff it with a soft cloth buffing wheel and the right kind of wax cut plexiglass can look very good, don't see why that wouldn't work here.

Step one.....Tape both sides with masking tape ..... #2 draw line wanted on tape ..... #3 cut on line with a jig saw blade; or dremel cutter .... #4 use a file/s to get as smooth as possible ..... #5 use sand paper to finish work it with different grades of grit...... #6 look at it and smile .........
