Etze
Hello, can anybody tell me what the torx head screw on the rear Hub is for? Although the hubs are very similar, it only seems to appear from 6th Gen onwards. Ist there a specific function or reason for the screw? Thanks
Member Contributer Dangeruss Posted September 4, 2023 Member Contributer Share Posted September 4, 2023 Some of the 6th gen had a rear wheel speed sensor that mounted in the caliper bracket. I would hazard a guess that the screw head hits the caliper bracket to limit rotation of the eccentric to prevent you from ramming the speed sensor into the swingarm and damaging it. Etze
Thank you, that makes sense to me. ABS started with the VTEC in '02, therefore the 5th Gen does not have this screw. PS: I may be looking for options to change out the hub on my 4th Gen, because of an added seal on the roller bearing side from 5th gen onwards. Although the (double) roller bearing is sealed, the added shaft Seal Ring makes sense to me (Part 34).
