Forgive me if this post is completely out of place. I am a new member and a new owner of a Magna 750 Deluxe that I've never ridden. I'm new to motorcycles in fact this is my very first, and the weather is beautiful so I'm anxious to get it rolling. I'm not too far off, but in removing the carbs in order to clean them, I discovered a ton of seemingly additional unnecessary complexity in both the EVAP system and the PAIR system. I removed several of the PAIR valves before I had second thoughts and figured maybe Id better slow down. Now, it's going to be hard to convince me that this system is necessary, however, if someone does so I will put it back. That being said, I doubt that's going to happen, so what do I need to do ultimately in order to make sure that I have done these removals correctly that is, left vents where vents should be, plugged what should be plugged, and basically configured the carbs and fuel system in the most prudent way possible. I'm anxious to get on the road of course, but I'm not anxious to break down so... I'm so happy to be here and I really appreciate any help I could get. Please do move this question to its appropriate location if I've embarrassed myself by putting it in the complete wrong place.

8 Gen with PVC/Autotune, should I fit PAIR valve blocking plates?
Ronsk posted a question in Modification Questions
Have anyone fitted a PVC and autotune to a 8 gen 2014?. I have the PVC is all wired up and working. The Autotune is a work in progress as I am in the process of getting a bund welded into the exhaust in front of the collector box, angled so the o2 sensor will fit. My understanding is that the Pair Valve needs to be disabled for the autotune to function best. I have not been able to find much on the 8 gen about this. Would a set of blocking plates do this and do this. I am looking at these on fleabay, would they work? PAIR Valve Removal kit with Block Off plates Honda VFR 800 F/V-tec Fi 1998-2015 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PAIR-Valve-Removal-kit-with-Block-Off-plates-Honda-VFR-800-F-V-tec-Fi-1998-2015/263681555506 or this? http://www.pmc-usa.com/2014-2015-honda-vfr800-interceptor-ais-smog-block-off-plates/ anyone have any experience with this setup on an 8 gen? What I really need to know is are the pair valve block off plates for the 6 gen and 8 gen the same? Any advice would be appreciated. -
Just buttoned up my 5th gen after doing the PAIR/snorkel/flapper mods. I used block-off plates manufactured by MelloDude and torqued them onto the red/orange seal that was originally around the reed valve. After reinstallation of the tank, hoses and misc. wire connections, I started the bike and something is NOT right. I shot a video and uploaded it to YouTube so you guys can see/ hear exactly what's happening. Worth noting that this was the first time I'd ever pulled the tank but that I took time to make sure everything was connected correctly. Please check out the video link and LMK if the issues (first stalling, then low idle, then inconsistent idle, then FI light) is a symptom of incorrect install of the tank or leak in plates used to block PAIR valves.

Heard nothing but good reviews about these mods for the 6 Gen so I decided to try them. Its been about a month now of some hard serious riding and I gotta say I love it. They really make the bike seem different (in a good way). I was skeptical at first, but totally glad I did it. Here's the link. Do yourself a favor and try it. http://johnny.chadda.se/pair-and-flapper-mod-with-bonus-snorkel-mod-for-vfr/
