I'm new to the forum and looking forward to contributing.
I'm in the process of reviving a '94 VFR750F (fourth gen) with 65K miles that was seriously neglected and rotted. For a full year it was parked uncovered in the sun, next to a lawn sprinkler that sprinkled it throroughly every night. It is rotted and frikin' ugly. The chain is one rusted solid hunk.
I have all the body work off and the carbs on the bench. Not suprisingly all the jets are clogged. The engine oil smells like gas. It does have a clean K&N air filter. I want to see if/how it'll run before getting to far on anything else.
The ultimate goal, assuming it's a runner, is to do something minimalistic; remove the body work, reuse the tank, build a seat and fenders, remove or relocate all the unsightly bits, make it clean and functional - especially the suspension and brakes. I've already got my hands on a well used Ohlins and will do the fork internals with Race Tech or some such, whatever conventional wisdom has found is the best route.
I'll post progress.
Thanks, Paul.
