  1. Some small progress today, well most of time to sort stuff after the move last year as some inspiration what needs to be done. The sorting mainly to get the VFR finally in place so can be worked on easy. From beginning noticed the rear brake needs sorting as dragging as making some sound moving bike backwards. The brake pads are close to end of life as uneven worn. Hard to see in picture Brake disk has some wear but not bad so will use it as long the orginal wheel is in place. The locking plate for the pins holding the brake pads is missing and locked by a steel wire Looking into the bolt hole you see why the looking plate is missing, the bolt hole for the bolt looking it has no treads left... So treads need to be made. I should have a looking plate around, need to find it. Have first to take the caliper off and see if pistons are badly jammed, hopefully not. As I inspected the rear brake noticed there might need to be some modifications made to the Devil 4-1 exhaust as I raising the tail, looks close to swingarm So to do list don't get shorter, but I think a small dent in the pipe might sort clearance issues whit out power loss you can feel, it's a big diameter pipe in this section.
  2. Today ordered 2 second hand wheels, a CBR600F2 for the rear and a VFR400 NC24 front wheel.
  3. Was actually Metzeler's and yes was from 98/02 (rear/front), did svamp to fresh Bridgestone as I arrived home, was only straight roads thro Germany as Sweden home 😁 Is it really 11 years ago.... Time fly
  4. It has DOT 2015, rubber feels soft. It's a Pirelli Sport Demon, one of 4 you get in this size nowadays. Just ordered a Dunlop Street smart that I been reading much good of. Only Smart choice I think even was hoping to test the bike working good next summer whit the current tires, in case I go for a fork convention anyway, But for now orginal size it will be....
  5. Had a tool that you can peak inside things whit borrowed from a friend and did a look inside the Bandit tank The connections of the tube , both upper as lower looks good. After this I did plug the upper end and sprayed WD40 into the tub from below (tank upside down) and the leak is after first bend from top so would be possible to cut the metal tube and put a good oil resistant rubber tube in between I think, but it needs to be cut open anyway, might be soldier is a good option to. Next what I think is the small hole it leaks thro? I think the metal tube is corrode from inside, the upper part as you see inside the tube there is corrosion but not from down looking up. You can't go long in, first bend and the end of this doesn't go deeper
  6. Inspected the cut in current front tire, looks like a act of destruction, it's sure deep so no chance I want to ride whit it, a new one needed even there price are almost crazy today...... A flat screwdriver what I open the cut whit
  7. I could but the measurement between the seal area and the lock latch is slightly different on new vs old so will not work.
  8. So all years of RC24(26) has same bolt pattern for the fuel cap? Just looked that according to part number 86, 87 different as 88/89 but those 2 year have same
  9. I should have written looks like it fits, But you are right, it doesn't fit. The 2 back bolts has a 3mm difference in mounting, to big to drill out plus there is a height difference to. Was the bolling whit idea to take out the pin that holds the cap from the holder ring, but even there is a difference in height between look that slide out and sealing surface. Amen, need to return the fuel cap I bought But as cap off cleaned the surface inside it, and cap back on.... Tank needs a good deep polish for sure! But looks good inside
