  1. Rear brake caliper pistons out finally, need seriously cleaning, but will probably then be good to use again. Also got this in the mail today A rebuild kit for front brake calipers! A rebuild kit for the rear is on the way. I just couldn't resist this as even the label says 41€ (69€ in a local motorcycle stores webshop) I got this for 20€ (+2,5€ postage) that I think is a steal, I recall how much better the front brakes became on my 87 back in time after I did rebuild the front brake calipers whit new rebuild kit.
  2. Yes, 2,5x16 front 4,5x17 rear. I was first thinking of a cb seven fifty F2 (1992 on) rear wheel that is 4" wide as a rear and convent from 17 to 20mm axle, but then thought at 4,5 is a better choice if I in some point decide to try the cbr1000f fork I have... I'm not sure what size yet tire Been looking at outer diameters and sizes and 150/70 or 160/70 are mostly what I been looking at, depending on what shock I end up whit. I can go bias or radial in those size. The 160/60-17 that the CBR F2 has as stock is slightly smaller in diameter. I know one that has used the StreetSmart front whit a Radial (Avon) rear whit excellent results (on a FJ1200 that has 16" wheels). So a matching StreetSmart or RoadSmart perhaps or a GPR300 if a Dunlop, I will see, next summer I plan to still use OEM rear wheel as it has a good tire, to see the bike runs good, then next winter do bigger change to the bike, rear wheel as shock and hopefully the CBR900 fairing.
  3. Today 2 quite different size boxes arrived What was in the 2 boxes The black in the smaller box whit just some styrofoam on other side of rim, the red in the bigger box that had a lot of cardboard (sheets as boxes) inside, how I like to see things packed! Both had survive the shipping ok thro
  4. One I know recommend these strongly, he use them on a old FJ1200 and think they are almost as good as a radial tire. I will know this summer
  5. Well didn't look that bad even not good The pistons are bearly moving, specially one of them but eventually got them out, a rebuild kit for rear caliper needed
  6. Well brake pads off now and think they are shoot
  7. Some small progress today, well most of time to sort stuff after the move last year as some inspiration what needs to be done. The sorting mainly to get the VFR finally in place so can be worked on easy. From beginning noticed the rear brake needs sorting as dragging as making some sound moving bike backwards. The brake pads are close to end of life as uneven worn. Hard to see in picture Brake disk has some wear but not bad so will use it as long the orginal wheel is in place. The locking plate for the pins holding the brake pads is missing and locked by a steel wire Looking into the bolt hole you see why the looking plate is missing, the bolt hole for the bolt looking it has no treads left... So treads need to be made. I should have a looking plate around, need to find it. Have first to take the caliper off and see if pistons are badly jammed, hopefully not. As I inspected the rear brake noticed there might need to be some modifications made to the Devil 4-1 exhaust as I raising the tail, looks close to swingarm So to do list don't get shorter, but I think a small dent in the pipe might sort clearance issues whit out power loss you can feel, it's a big diameter pipe in this section.
