  2. Very nice work! Thanks for the video.

I currently have the engine out of my bike and started cleaning the oxidation off the block and heads with phosphoric acid (aluminum jelly). It is working well but it is still pitted and I am hesitant to use an abrasive or wire wheel on it yet.

I am wondering how you cleaned the block and heads?

Mostly with a Scotch bright pad and a little wd40 will bring the block together.. 120 or 80 grit paper on the worst protruding casting marks... then a finer grade to take out any scratches...i never went to town on it, just rubbed it up a touch..then silver wheel spray paint over the side cases...

  3. This was 2 years ago.. than i was using the fuel pump. Now in 2012 i am gravity fed and using coil on caps and a lithium race battery so there is now only the CDI, R/R, battery and starter switch in the rear. All work well with a slipper clutch for good measure..

  4. Courtesy FROM the members of VFRD......lol

Hope you enjoy your bike, best website ever!

Also a big thanks to all fellow vfrd members for chipping in as i have not been able to this time round.

  5. R u thinking of painting the nose fairing red andd putting a (black) keel on her??

Side panels 916 air box in carbon, oil catch pan for bottom yes. But i have run outa cash so will have to wait for the money tree to fruit.

Paint is last thing on the list...

  6. This bike is the hands down winner of street fighter frankenviffers. I'd consider some Aprilia Tuono style screen mesh covers between the tail section and gas tank above the frame and maybe some more black out of the engine and covers. Maybe a GP style shorty canister from the end of the collector. Or just leave it. It looks great.

Thanks for input. Noted about side panels. Will hope to add a pair of the ducati carbon airbox side covers. Funds allowing.....

  7. Something's missing.....clean,tho.

Maybe a belly/oil pan missing. Hope to add ducati side airbox covers pref in carbon to smooth out middle gap from rear seat to tank. Soon when funds allow.....

  8. Very nice :fing02: :fing02

Any idea on weight?? It look light!

Oh yes its light! Power delivery and acceleration are much improved. When i get some heat into the rubber bike will power the mountain course here on isle of man in comfort! Much improved point and shoot.. Unable to weight bike as i have no scales... but when comparing what has been removed with whats been replaced in ones hand the weight saving is a quite a number of kilo's.

  9. OK, dude, we need details on this b*d*ss mofo! What front end is that? What year did this start life as (guess 4th gen)?

low mileage 4th gen. Front end is CBR954/929 yokes and forks Dymags front/back, rc30 rear hub. 520erv3 race chain, ally sprocket combo. 2bros left exit system. ohlins 929 rear shock with spacer mod. to suit. Chain guard by Thurn motosport, AP rear brake caliper with new attachment under arm. Internal rear brake line, Yoshimora rear sets,(Chinese) with handmade master cylinder stay. Carbon fuel cap. Stainless over-braid on cooling system. Earls stainless components where ever necessary. Lots more..

hopefully more to come as yet...
