Not to be discouraging at all but I'm glad I'm not the only one who bought a VFR and is dealing with some wackadoo problems lol

I just bought chinese replica fairings on ebay. Definitely just ABS plastic and definitely get the job done.

Any other symptoms? Mileage? Maintenance done?

Who doesn't like pie cuts on an exhaust?
It looks good so far and I'm betting you know the wheel has that dent in it. I can't wait to see more tail pics. -
I don't have an eighth gen but I know a good looking bike when I see one. :)

I think I can play this game! I've owned this plate since 1987 when personalised plates were first released, and it has graced a number of V4s over the years since. Currently on the back of my MT-10 (but have you heard one of those??).
Is the MT-10 just a bigger MT-09?

I replaced the expired ssl certificate, and renewed the software licence. Looks as if the current system will not need to be completely upgraded as I thought. Which triggered me in the first place. That is a couple day affair and a hugh pain in the ass, Linux always has something extra you have to do to get what used to work to work again when you upgrade.
The problem is I just don't have the time I used to for this. I got about 100 or so messages I have yet to wade thru. But my weekend is almost over. It's been raining relentlessly so I can't even go for a ride on my new bike.
I am a bit confused as to my resolve, my feeling is I don't want to give up my baby, but I just don't have the time I to put into it this place deserves.
I had a few offers to take over..but I..I don't know these folks. Bottom line.
You could always delegate some tasks to capable people around here instead of giving anything up completely. There are definitely other options to get some of the work off of your plate. This place is an information source for more than just people who sign up, for sure.

Good question. Weird that there's a discrepancy. I'd follow the service manual too.

Hi
Just to share the same happened to me. My OEM RR died on 2021, I've ordered a Mosfet and still this happened.
I was ridding felt the heat on my leg stopped and saw smoke coming from the fairing.
I will order another RR now from below website per @Mohawk advise, and I guess the big lesson learned here is ditching the connectors and just Solder the Wires.
per Mohawk advise, and I guess the lesson learned here is ditching the connectors and just connected the wires
I skipped the stock connenctor and wired it directly to the stator as a lot of people here have said and it's been smooth sailing since.

I volunteer to mod to get rid of spam accounts if that'll help. I know Seb usually does it. I just know that when I get to work (5a EST) and hop on here, I always see the spam and start reporting lol. I'm not sure how much it'd help but I'd be willing to do that easy peasy. I only just got here a few months ago but this place has been invaluable to helping me get my new-to-me VFR sorted out.

It's over 1000 gigs hence the difficulty in moving to another server.
What would make it doable though? A TB doesn't sound like a lot in terms of today's storage even if moving that between servers would be a chore.

Thank you for doing this for us for so long.
Is there any chance to get a download of all of it? I use it often to search fro solutions...or problems.
I hope so -

Looks smart, good job.
Now, if only I could find help with connecting my printer to my network, contacting yahoo or an airline 🤔
It might be your lucky day. I'm not sure if you've seen the most recent slew of ... um... "help" available on the forums but it seems we have some new members that are dead set on making sure you can get your printer hooked up to print your flight tickets 🤣

After being on here for a couple of months, I noticed some 6th gens had clear turn signals and I LOVE the look over the amber turn signals. So much that I bought a used tail light off of ebay to throw onto the bike. What I didn't see on here (initially) is what to do about the different connector on the newer tails. So if you're looking to update, you'll definitely need to order "Sumitomo part number 6189-0890" aka Sumitomo HX .040 - .090 Connector and Terminals (cycleterminal.com) from cycle terminal dot com.
Step 1: order the newer style tail light and clean it up. I just used a random orbital buffer wtih some swirl and scratch remover to clean the light up. You can see buffed versus unbuffed below.
Step 2: Realize the new taillights have different turn signal connectors and order the ones linked above.
Step 3: Get your connector kit in the mail
Step 7: The old connector can be taken apart with a connector pin removal tool. I tried to take a picture of the pin catch below. You just need to insert the pin tool from the same side the wires enter the connector. I used a screw driver to push the pins out while I had the pin remover inserted.
Step 11: Add the new connector. Once you've gotten the new pins crimped on, make sure to press them into the connector until they click. That'll guarantee they won't just fall out. The little plastic piece that goes on the front of the connector to align the pins is pretty intuitive.
STEP 99: Verify the lights are working and enjoy! I should have taken video instead of trying to take a pic while the lights were flashing but meh.
EDIT:
This was the original thread that helped me find the connector part.
This was a referenced thread in there to a much more complicated way to do this. -
Need less placeholders and more pictures, please 🤣

Have you looked at your boot height? They may just be too thick for smooth shifting both ways. I've seen that countless times. Moving the lever can help one way, but makes the other way worse.
Being new boots, I'm hoping they just need to break in but they are chunkier than my old Sidis.

Linky link? You have a 5th Gen I think?
6th gen and after a quick ride on the bike to fill the tank... i reverted back to stock lol. It helped with up shifting tremendously but made downshifting a giant chore. I have a bad feeling that Sato rear sets are in my future lol.

Bought some cheapo ebay adjustable pegs because my new boots are too big to get under the shifter (I've been using the edge of my toe) and voila. All better with a 1" (25mm) drop... and no drop on the brake side. That side was already good lol.

Looks nice and very well done but all that work and the standard forks and cbs brakes? C'mon.
I like the coolant expansion tank though, if that's what is. Über cool.
What is the forks are cartridge converted or whatever it is that people do LOL.
It looks fantastic either way.

There's a hole in between the two bolts on the tank that it gets attached to with a screw/bolt.
