  1. Wow, that is a serious dog offense. I thought it was bad when my wife fell on her face (she had a black and blue face for 2 weeks) when her dog ran after another dog.

I bet you are burning to ride the new bike! I wish you speedy recovery!

  2. Interesting choice! I only know Kenda as a bicycle tire manufacturer. Currently,  I am running on Shinko Verge 011. Price was around $200 for the set. While the traction and tip in are good, I only get 3000 miles on front and rear. Same was for Conti motion tires which grip a little better, warm up quicker and are less sensitive to tar snakes (it seems that tar snakes becoming an art here lately) but always had a little shimmy effect on the front end, no matter how good these were balanced.

Please report on the wear and how many miles you get out of these tires. From the picture,  it looks li,e these grip well at lean angle.

    Thanks.

Isn't this a kind of "how long is a piece of string" topic? Just so many variables.

    - acceleration rate from stationay.

    - up shift, down shift technique.

    - slow riding technique, use of clutch friction zone.

    - type of friction modifiers in the oil you use

    - etc!

For info, previous vfr 94,000kms and current 8gen vfr 92,000kms. No clutch issues at all.

    Exactly as stated!

  4. I think, it all depends how you treat your clutch.  My vfr has 36k miles and it still feels like no wear. I had several bikes with close to 40k miles and never had clutch wear issues (mostly backroads with a lot of shifting)

I hope, I did not jinx my clutch with this statement!

Not Putoline. Putoline only makes lubricants and coolants for motorcycles, scooters and quads.

If I got my facts straight, Bel-Ray also makes oil only for motorcycles.  I use Bel-Ray Synthetic since 1988 or so with no issues.

When I was in school and on a budget in the 80ties, I used a cheap Castrol oil from a supermarket, it turned into water within 200 miles, lesson learned back then. The bike, a 82 GS 550 Katana survived it.

I always buy oil and filter after a on oil change, so the next oil batch sits already in the garage when needed.
