Wow! You’re really upset by this aren’t you? All I’m saying is that the title was leading members to post what they were doing with their VFR, regardless of it was an 8 Gen or not. My point was, if the title was more specific, I don’t think it would have lead members to post their non 8 Gen pics, me included, as the category is something that is less noticed than the title. I wasn’t actually saying to change it, I was joking.
The main reason for the categories is for technical questions, things that are usually specific to a generation, i.e. VTEC motor specific questions, like cam chains and VTEC valve inspections. Things that are not relevant or specific to a generation or “generic” as this title appears to be, leaves the door open to members posting something there.
What would be absurd, is if there was a ‘What did you do to your VFR today?’ thread for each generation. For one, I’m sure the server won’t let you create a thread title with the same name, the other would be utter confusion. Maybe moving this thread to a more general category would make this apparent issue go away.
I made this post so that all VFR people can talk about what they did that day to their bike. Anytime you head out to your garage and turn a wrench you want to tell someone who cares about it. And when people listen people learn and can help out if needed. It happens to be in Gen 8 because that’s what I own.

You got loads of tread left on that.
I know but I was putting on the new exhaust so I didn’t want to have to do that over again mid summer. I’ll sell you the old tire ?

Okay so I replaced my oem filter for a K&N.
Pretty straight forward, took no time at all, however when I look at the parts schematic, it shows an o-ring on top and bottom of the filter. I swear I didn’t see any and if I remember right I cleaned out at least the bottom grove since I had everything apart. But the K&N and oem seem to be made so that there isn’t an o-ring invlolved. Can anyone reassure me so I don’t have to open the box back up?

Awesome, how much was that seat? Did they redo your original pan?
Also how is your GPS mounted?
-
So I am going to install the exhaust soon. Is it necessary to use the silicon in the joints? Seems like it would get all scrapped off when you install the pipe since they are a close fit. Also that makes it a problem with taking out or installing the baffle later, not to mention it needs to be removed when removing the rear tire.
-
I finally got my delkevic 8” shorty in the mail today. There was no instructions but I am guessing I reuse the factory clamp by the converter, and use their silicon at both clamp locations. Then as for the DB killer I would like to try it out with and without so can I leave the silicone out while I do this? Also I doesn’t seem like there is any packing around the baffle or is there supposed to tube?

I’ll go first. Yesterday I replaced clutch and brake fluids along with a coolant change since the bike is 4 years old. I am planning on installing a K&N filter when it arrives tomorrow.

I wanted to start a post where anyone can come and say what they did to their bike. Or what they are doing, or plan to do. This can start some really good discussions, ideas. and learning. Example would be if someone works on their air filter it could remind others to check theirs.

When will mine show up!!!!! Amazon has me getting impatient haha

Okay so in order to balance the rear wheel on these bikes you need to make sure you have the correct cone to fit the drive side of the rear wheel. (If your using a static balancer).
On my other bikes they are double sided swingers so I had no trouble using a amazon/harbor freight style static balancer.
However looking through the forum you gents said to go with http://www.marcparnes.com/Honda_Motorcycle_Wheel_Balancer.htm.
So I went to his site and since I already owned a balancer I opted to buy the $50 cone set for the bike.
HOWEVER!! Marc proceeded to call me and say hey wait, since you already have universal cones all I have to do is send you the one special VFR cone and your all set. I will cut your cost in half!!!
A huge shout out to Marc and his honesty and the willingness to lose out on a half a sale just to do the right thing and help me save some money!!!
I wanted to let the forum know so that he can get the business he deserves. Thanks Marc, a gesture like this goes along way in my book!

Not at all, actually if you go to the posting about quick shifter I commented with a ton of pictures with my set up. I think the only thing I did was move the shifter down a little by pivoting on the shaft a couple splines.

Having mine brand new but the front seat was set like that. Low position on the rear. High position on the front(with rubber). After a while i notice that the front seat is a little bit losy so i decide to follow Honda instructions and modify the seat for low position. Now, my knee hurt(I'm 6'2/188 cm) but i don't like how the seat looks on high position. I'm thinking about redone this.
Just an idea but have you tried some lowered pegs? Mine again came with bar risers and lowers side pegs. I was trying to flatten out my seat so I done slide into the tank as much

Nice, when I got my bike it had a ton of extras including the oem rear tire hugger that I just found yesterday hidden under there haha. Also my del exhaust is on its way too.
-
I got my bike used so they are missing. Guess I need to go searching.

Never heard of such a recommdation!! Your owners manual clearly explains the method of setting the seat height, there's no need for extra rubbers!!! You set the seat to either Hi or Low position, whatever suits you, there is no inbetween.
This allows you to sit more flat in the saddle instead of slipping in toward the tank. Manual says to remove some rubbers to lower and add to raise in the front of the seat.
-
So are these gone?
-
So I know a lot of people recommend leaving the front seat on the low position in the rear and on the higher position in the front. I like that idea but is there supposed to be extra rubbers your install to raise the front? Do I have to buy them?

Yes, the Delk has a spot for the center stand. I think you made a great choice! I agree for the price it's hard to beat and it's one of loudest ones available - at least with the baffle out. To whet your appetite, here's a vid of what it will sound like in your helmet - I think I hit the rev limiter a few times in this vid
#1 I would love to be riding right now but it’s -5 where I live....
#2 You should check out the oem quickshifter on partzilla, I just added it this fall and it’s awesome.
#3 your bike has gears 4, 5, & 6 FYI ?

GatorGreg does the delkevic have a spot for the centerstand? I just bought it anyway lol but I hope it does. You can beat the price for these.

Delkevic Exhaust Install
in Eighth Generation VFR's

I ended up using some on the female parts just past the slots. I let it set over night. I didn’t hear any leaks.
