This looks not unfamiliar, Leon. I have a pic of my wife in the middle of a tulip field near Alkmaar. We actually has to ask her tante to find one for us, because even though we could see them out the windows of the plane flying into Schiphol, we didn't see any when we were driving around.

  1. whoa!! :+1:

Hey! was going to say that. Now I'll have to think of something clever to say...

    Fail!

Um... it looks very, very nice! Really shiny and red. Makes you want to go for a ride on it. :+1:

  2. Nice photo, but you shoulda had The Twelve Apostles in the background.

As for the GOR, it's OK (yes, damned by faint praise, I guess).

I've driven it in a car, but never ridden it, and I think I'd get frustrated by the viciously enforced speed limits. Here most of the great biking roads are also not policed much, being too far from main [revenue gathering] centres.

  3. That must be very awkward in the turns.

And I'd imagine that as the speed approached 100 mph, there'd be a tendency for the bike to get all light, and the steering all squirrely.

I passed a cop once, about 12 or 13 years ago. Nothing happened, even though I was doing probably 30km/h over the limit.

I doubt whether I'd get away with it nowadays.

The last ticket I got was just over two years ago - 132 km/h in a 100 zone. $300 and 40 points on my licence. :(

Mind you, I had 30 years of ticketless speeding before that...

  4. Sorry to be boring, but it's:

    - Stretching his legs

    - Getting his mind in the right headspace

    - Part of his race rituals.

These guys seem to be very superstitious, and also doing everything the same every time is important to them for consistency.

I was reading an interview with one of our A1GP drivers recently, and he said he has to ALWAYS put his right sock on, then right boot, then rifght glove, then his left ones. If he mucks up the order at all, he has to start over again.
