I know this is more than 4 yrs old, but did Guhl stop re-flashing?  His website says he does not do re-flashing for any vehicle with a VIN.    I found a number and will call tomorrow, but looks like he got sued or something.

Wow, that's interesting and disturbing.  "Any vehicle with a VIN" is really "any vehicle"....   Let us know what you find out.

Hope he wasn't sued by an insurance company for an owner that didn't declare the modification.   Or just sued at all.

  2. Regatillo: The connectors are indeed buried behind the frame. It's a very tight fit to get your fingers in there. The good news is the connectors are attached to the frame with a removable bracket, so first unhook the bracket - this will allow the connectors to move and make it much easier to disconnect them (I didn't figure that out until busting my knuckles for a hour..)

    Good luck.

  3. I saw this posted on another forum (guy called tin-tin). It sounds like a great idea given that no one can get their hands on the 8 pin Honda connector. What do you think?

"I know that the 8 pin gps connector is hard to find but the pins in the harness cant be too special I would think. has anyone ever just done the conversion at the pin level with a couple of extra 3 pin connectors that take the same pin size as the OEM 8 pin and just make a separate 3 pin jumper harness. I didnt do it this way because I dont have an extended warranty but I would think this would work. I guess if I have to take it back for warranty in the couple months i have left, I would probably just cut all the wires for the gps harness and repin the connector. I doubt anyone would notice that the harness was half an inch shorter. I dont know. just kind of brainstorming."

  4. It's not that bad, really. Now, my 6th gen, that it another story altogether.

This 1200F valve adjust is breaking my heart, I would rather adjust the 24 valves in my CBX any day.

I have another 8000 miles before my VFR is due for her valve adjustment though but, thanks for the demonstration and now I know the nightmare I am in for.

  5. I'm curious if Bazazz is actually altering ignition timing or if it's like the PC5 which is fuel mapping only. I find it hard to believe that they make such a drastic change to the power curve with only a fuel map. Not saying it can't be done, but engine tuning is a mix of several variables, fuel mapping is but one variable. Please see if you can find out more about what they did besides fueling. Thanks.

I believe it. In my experience, the PCV dramatically alters the low to mid rpm feel of the bike, and, my butt dyno tells me ( :) ) power. So I have no doubt the Bazzazz unit will too, even with just fuel alterations. Out of the factory the bike is fuelled for economy/emissions, not performance. I will be fitting a z-bomb when it's available as well.

  6. Hey Jamie, is that my shock? smile.gif I didn't realize I was the first. I just picked it up yesterday from the office (where it was delivered...i was on holiday). The extension you made looks really top notch. Can't wait to install it and go for a ride (likely will do it this week). I'll post up my thoughts after I do it.
