Well I decided to brave the cold and it's not too bad once you're working!!  have the old shock out, took me about an hour, what held me back was the bolt at the back of the engine for that pivot arm, this job would be a lot easier if the exhaust header pipes weren't in the way!!

anyway I managed to wrestle it out,old bolts are very dry so I'll coat them with some heavy duty grease,

so now I'm going to throw a few washers on top of the blackbirds shock bolt and try and put her all back together, I was always better at taking things apart though:goofy:

Went over to this gents house to see this bike he's been building. The engine is built from two Honda VFR750 engines spliced together to form a V8 displacing ~1500cc, it runs on nitro and has a roots-type supercharger. During our visit he offered to fire it up for us. It sounds positively ferocious!

  3. When I called my dealership, they said don't ride it. Evidently they've heard of the rear wheel actually looking up. Which is odd since they only sold 3000 of these bikes world wide it looks like, according to the Japanese recall posting. I had to buy a car to drive because I'm not taking the bike. I wonder if I can make honda pay for that...hmmm...anyway, my dealer said early Feb is when I should expect my parts. Then again, living north of Seattle, parts won't be here until July, HA!

3000 worldwide??? That since 2010? So five years equates to 600 a year (worldwide). Popular bike then.
