I typically run Pirelli Supercorsa. And I will confirm that they are much easier to mount than Dunlops which has a much stiffer sidewall. Keep in mind that if you have your suspension set up for Pirelli's that the Dunlops will require a different set up for ideal results.

Nasty crash !!
http://www.foxsports.com/speed/motogp/video-bradl-uninjured-in-huge-crash-at-mugello/
LOL, I didn't mean it that way. Most of my friends are working and have very limited time to do much else. I arrived Saturday morning and confined myself to the paddock (mostly waiting) so that I could spend what little time I could with friends during their brief breaks. In some cases, I only got to say hi for 5-10 minutes. I watched the race from the LCR Honda box, but as you know, Bradl crashed, so the mood could have been better.
Irony that Crutchlow will be taking his spot next year?

Yeah! Great racing this season. Where is all the young American talent???
Where is any American talent after November 2014?
Ciao,
Is Nicky Hayden going away too or are you saying he has no talent?
He had surgery on his wrist, not racing as of now .
He was in the garage next to the one I was in. He seemed to be in some sort of wrist brace.

Sorry I missed you guys. I had a slightly shortened trip and was confined to the paddock for most of the event due to my schedule. Hope to catch you at the next one.
-
Where do you guys normally hang out?

Anyone making the ride/flight/trek to see Colin's last race on US soil?
-
Cool, but I agree it looks very Diavel-esque. Personally, I'd rather buy a Diavel.

I wished I would have stayed on the road. Yesterday morning I wheeled my bike out of the covered parking to wash it. I put the kickstand down and walked about 5 steps away and WHAM! I turned around to see RHonda laying on the ground. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!
Scratched the left side fairings, turned my clutch lever into a U shape and broke my left mirror at the base. I'm so bummed. Also, the upper support bar that holds the mirror and provides support for the windsheild got bent down some, so now I have to remove the upper cowling and bend it back up to be even with the other side.
I still have a lot to be grateful for as I did just complete this long trip with no issues at all, but it's a sickening feeling to see your bike laying on it's side.
Sorry to hear, Randy! Ironic that you covered the distance that you did without incident only to have a tipover that way. Give me a shout when you have a chance, and let's see if there is something I can do to help you get her back to looking pretty again.

I AM HOME!
When I recover more, I'll give more details, but after two beers and a big dinner, I. Am. Tired!
Welcome home! Glad you made it back safely!

Well, starting my trip back tomorrow. I tried to upload photos from my camera, only to realize I don't have there correct cable. I'll have to wait until I get home.
Have a safe trip back!

Got back from WSBK last night. Pretty epic ride there and back from San Diego. Got pulled over by the CHP five minutes after leaving the hotel...he didn't like our group splitting a slow car In the middle lane. Pretty cool chip, lectured me and let me go.
Race was lightly attended, but a bit better than last year. That's just the way it's going to be for a few years. I think the disaster that is the DMG led AMA series is a factor - no draw there. Also, some friends rode to COTA this year and didn't have budget/time for WSBK too. They hated the ride over to COTA from SoCal and won't do it again. So next year there may be more West Coast GP fans staying "home" for WSBK. I've been going to Laguna since '94 and have seen the changes back and forth between GP and WSBK. It always takes a few years of consistency and the crowds come back. Monterey is a beautiful place, then venue is superb and the ride anywhere from the Rockies west includes some of the best rides you can make on a bike.
Hoped to meet up with BrainF but as he said, he had a work-interfering-with-life issue.
I'll try to post some pix in the next few days.
BTW, the Gen 7 suspension was adequate at best...I'm looking to makes changes now.
I rode up as well and fortunately didn't have any problems with LE. DMG/AMA is a joke; I'm not a huge fan of Dorna, but I hope they do make a bid for AMA before DMG puts the final nail in the AMA coffin.
Don't know which way they rode to COTA but I've made the trip from CA to TX and there is a great route to take if they can deal with high speed. Go through Barstow and hit the 40. That will take you from Barstow, through Flagstaff, to Albuquerque, finally to Amarillo, at which point multiple routes can be planned to Austin. From Barstow to Flagstaff, I held it at 85-100 the whole way. I'll be doing the TX to CA trip soon for WSBK, and that route is the way to go. You can fly :D
I've driven the more southerly route the past couple of years for MotoGP and got a ticket for 85 as I neared the CA-AZ border. I've driven your route through Albuquerque a couple of times on the way to MotoGP at Indy, but not at the speed you mentioned, lol. I always seem to see way too much LE.

Looked like a great time...who won AMA? Last time there was 2005 when Hayden won. Started going when I bought my 84 Interceptor..now those were wild times up there. Thats when turn 1 went straight up to the cork screw...and that of course is
when AMERICANS RULED.....
Any pictures guys?

Josh Hayes won Superbike. I started going in 1988 shortly after they added the infield section. Yes, wild times back then!
Unfortunately, no pics on my end. My buddy is the photographer/videographer for Graves/Yamaha and I tend to shoot paddock and lifestyle pics, but got wrangled into some other obligations, so the camera didn't even come out.

Cool vid! Thanks!
-
Sorry you couldn't make it. Race 2 was wild indeed.
I'm happy to hear that tickets weren't wasted :)
-
I have tickets, but I'm iffy. If anything I'll be there Sunday, but driving the car. Lame.
Did you end up going?
Finally got to formally meet Larry and Mr. RC45.

Is pramac Italian for prammen?
I have a couple of busty friends that have held umbrellas for Pramac. Good people there.
-
I can fit the rings to any gen VFR cover.
Outstanding! Can you please send me a quote at your earliest convenience? Thanks in advance!

DT, that road is hella fun! I'll be coming back soon, we should all meet up for some canyon fun. I know that there's what, four local people? Duccmann, am I right in that?
Sounds great! I'll be riding up to Laguna Seca for WSBK this weekend. Hit me up when you are back. Have a great trip!
-
Nice pics, Randy! Sounds like you're having a blast!
-
Any chance of future availability for 2nd gens? I wouldn't mind waiting a while.

That is BS!!! I've never seen an umbrella girl standing on the grid topless.
I seem to recall a year with Haga (on the R7) with a couple of grid girls wearing only body paint.
