  1. Decided on Hel SS lines without delink. Install was straight forward but very time consuming along w/ filling and bleeding empty linked lines, installing speedbleeders after filling made bleeding much easier. Brakes feel great, very firm, exactly what i was looking for, and even better then i was expecting.

Thanks for all of the input.

  2. I was not sure about doing this mod as I've read mixed reviews from good to indifferent. The feel of the bike, being the most important thing to me, I decided on, Pro Star kit and Hel ss lines w/out delinking this winter. I Love It, shifts are much tighter with shorter stroke, does not eliminate any of the clunkiness around 1st and 2nd but being tighter it feels better. Clutch-less shifts are sure and easy, without having to worry about rpm's or acceleration as before, and with that neutral is easier to find when trying to find, which was my biggest concern, as i ride for work in a downtown setting and like to find neutral at the lights to sit upright. For me it is a great mod.

ps. In a instillation thread i followed on VFRD, it suggested that it might be easier to install the "sprung arm first then the star" which is impossible as i tried for almost an hour. install per service manual, which takes 2 minutes.

Ill let you know how the ss lines turn out. Thx

  3. Thx for the replies, over the years I've bleed, replaced fluid, few months ago had the local VFR master machinic that rides 99 vfr, rebleed while replacing head-bearing, even though he thought the brakes felt good. Im just looking for a firmer feel and thought the SS lines might help. I found a front line only kit through superbikesuppy, thought at half the price and half my labor, if anyone had done front only with good results. I haven't found much searching thread history. Thx again

  4. Looking for brake suggestions, Ive never been happy with brake feel "mushy", have a 5th gen, w/ dunlop HH pads, pazzo adjustable levers, changed fluid, thought the next step would be SS lines, and thought I would start with front only, due to cost and pain in the assness, any Thoughts? Thx
