  1. Hello to all.

I have no idea if this is common knowledge or not but thought I would share with the masses as it is sure to help at least one person out.

Fun fact: on 6th gens (maybe someone from the other gens can chime in to confirm if this is the case on other gens), the bulbs for the turn signals and for the tail light are identical, all 12v 21w/5w push in 7443 bulbs.

This can be quite practical to know as it means that in a bind (or to save a few bucks and/or a trip to the hardware store) a semi busted tail light bulb can simply be put in the turn signal housing and the turn signal bulb can be put in the tail light housing. What will burn out most of the time is the running light filament, not the flashing/braking stronger and seldom used in comparison filament.

For example: I noticed today that one of my tail lights was not working as a running light but was coming on when the brakes were applied. So I simply pulled it out, pulled out the left rear turn signal (could have been the right as well of course) and swapped the bulbs. Now the taillight has a used braking filament and a new running filament as the rear turn signals do not use that filament at all (unless you modded them to be running lights of course). As for the turn signal, it has a used flashing filament and a burnt out running filament, which it does not use anyway.

    Voilà.

    Hope this can help someone.

    :wheel:

By the way, for those having trouble removing the bulb (I was starting to worry I would actually break the glass by pulling too hard), a quick squirt of contact cleaner will help you loosen it up and pull it out easily.

  2. yup, the good ol' screwdriver trick, works every time

Remember to not overtighen your new one to avoid this. Put oil on the oring and tighten as much as you can by hand, this will be tigh enough. I tighten them by hand and they are still tough to remove.

  3. A colleague from work has some that specifically made for this purpose on his (I think) YZF. They lock into place when out but can easily be made to fold in. I can't for the life of me remember what they were but I will ask him about them.

  4. one thing about the tightening of the filter....

I've always applied a thin coat of oil on the o-ring and then tightened the filter by hand, noithing more. It's more then enough and makes removing it less of a pain.

  5. ok, tested out the clips today and they work very well. They are tighter but that seems like a good thing to me. They will be tougher to put in and take out but they are sturdier.

    Tip for futur reference:

Remove the top portion completely when putting it in then put the top part back in once the clip is in place, it made it easier for me.

  6. There's a theme here... all pro Chinese-knock off are non-members... and truthfully, there is a very good reason you don't want Chinese knock offs! You get what you pay for!!!

    hahaha that's awesome!

I got some and they are great, for now. We will see how they last as far as coating. The <<red>> is very much pink by the way so that's the only thing to watch for. I got some silver with black adjusters delivered for like 35-40$. You can't beat that and I no longer have cramps on my clutch hand because the lever is too far. Big improvement.
