  1. Whew!  Back from the Fall Ride - excellent time.  Highly recommend going if you are at all on the fence about attending.

Able to stitch together a few videos for your viewing enjoyment - these are just some of the roads...

Start of day run - temp in the 50s (F) so the pace shows the rider, tires and road cold condition plus is was a recce run for the road condition.  Yeah, yeah, excuses, excuses.

We get to watch Sweeper demonstrate his skills, finally!

The one below is from the Spring Ride but since The Snake is North of Asheville it kind of belongs in this collection

    Enjoy watching.

    Cheers,

I looked at it while I put the new shoes on the cb500x. I got new shoes for the VFR, just have to have them mounted.

Grace's "Halfrica Twin" (Sweeper copyright) is looking good with those new shoes.  Time is counting down before you will need the VFR done.  5 months(ish) and counting!

  3. Still in and thanks for continuing with this project.

Gotta' say, you and Rush both have my vote for the unofficial but very appreciated "Technical Tenacity Award" for wresting a project from a slow, stagnating, death.

    Cheers!

  4. 1000cc displacement

    150ish horsepower

    450 lb range

    RC 30 inspired color scheme

    Underbelly exhaust

RDMcD you hit the big ones right off, I can only add:

Factory Pro shift kit star wheel & lever/spring installed (the way God intended transmissions to shift)

ABS and traction control with track/sport/cruise settings

    electronic cruise control

air box/tank assembly audibly 'tuned to project that sweet V4 intake music up from the steering head area

    Decent suspension components - equivalent to what's on a CBR1000RR - i.e adjustability

2A USB power ports (for phone & charging batteries)

    Switched accessory power bus

    integrated and programmable chain oiler

  5. "Make It Growl" was the best 20 minutes spent drilling and cutting off sections of the two straight pipes (wanted only a 2.5 chamber exhaust) to get a deeper sound out of the sewing machine stock exhaust. Many mental horsepowers were added.

.....and then there was the 2.5 hours spent futzing around fishing, yanking, dropping, fishing, yanking, dropping, fishing some more and then finally cutting out one of the pipe sections that dropped inside and would NOT otherwise come out.

Highly recommend this mod - cheap, (can be) quick, and not too loud. If you can't justify a slip-on system this is a very close second. Just be sure not to drop the cut off section before it's out of the muffler!
