Good idea DH! I picked up a spare too for my journey back from the coast. Made it home without needing to use it. ;-)
To bring everyone in on the joke: same wheel and (flat) tire.

I wasn't going to ask how he put the condom in.
Oh how quickly you forget...

I couldn't bear to see you $3.95 below your fundraising target!

Done! Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Miguel. And of course: thank you for all things VFRD!

Made it home a few hours ago. No idea how many kilometers, what the average fuel consumption was, what the max seed was --ahem.... better that way... All I know is that I had fun, and that it was great seeing everyone again. Sorry to those who I did not talk very much. I will try harder next time.
Thanks again Mike, that was a great event.
And, as Thumper said, let me know if the books do not balance and I will pitch in for sure.
Cheers!!!
Christian
Like Polarbear, I arrived home last night. I think that we were somewhere around 2100km, which was plenty.
With the exception of the demise of the Kawasaki, it was a nice uneventful time on the road. I learned quite a lot, saw old friends, made new ones, and all in all it was a huge success.
Thank you Mike and Fiona and Niko for ALL your efforts. And of course: there is no world in which you should end up hold the financial bag on this one. Please count me in for fixing any overruns.- 2

Here is a link to the photos - thanks to my 'accomplice' Tammy for shooting some photos at the pub on Saturday night!
All the photos should be downloadable - please let me know if there are any problems?

Welcome to Nelson!
Thank you, Tony! It was great to catch up and thanks for all the photos.

We're into the final week. Glad to see everyone is finding their way to the meet and finding groups to ride with. The itinerary is in the first post for meals and meeting times. We'll have some 'pops' and junk food on the patio for everyone whenever you arrive. I should be there around 2pm (early) just in case. If anyone gets stuck or needs any help please feel free to e-mail me (superfunkomatic(at)gmail.com) or text message me at (403)xxx(874)xxx(9254). My family is driving the car out so we could do emergency service if needed.
Have a safe trip, y'all. See ya on Friday!
mike
You're a good man, Mr. Stahl.

+3 for agreeing with Randy. You (Mike) are doing plenty already, and we can fend for ourselves...

That Gary is a good guy. It must have been WET yesterday!

"If you are travelling in excess of 40 km/hr you can be charged for excessive speed with a fine of $368.00 and points or if more then 60 km/hr $483.00 plus points. On top of the fine your car will be seized for 7 days, costing you storage and a tow bill."
Um, I certainly plan on exceeding 40km/h and perhaps even 60. Hopefully Nelson RCMP needs to hire a (better) proofreader.
Will be long trip to Nelson from Vancouver below 40 km/h...

But we are good citizens, so we'll just spend three days getting there.

On a completely different note. I received a call from the local Powerhouse Honda and I'll be taking a test ride on the new Africa Twin DCT on May 14th. No firm date but my bike, which is a manual, should arrive late May or early June. So I should have it with time to spare for the meet - knock on wood for good luck.
I eagerly look forward to the writeup, Mike!

Are you still going ahead with the 5 gen mounts?
If there's enough interest, sure. I'm guessing we'd need about the same number of buyers (12) in order to keep the cost similar to the 6th gen ones maybe (just a guess)? So...do you and Rush2112 have 10 friends?
I am sorry, but I'm out. Too many bills and too little time on the bike!

(Book early for Sunrise Yoga Classes,,..)
My question is "Will there be sunrise hangover management classes?"
I think we should ban the consumption of spirited beverages.
I agree: red wine only. Am I right, Polarbear?

Just how many of you murderous sons of beeches are we going to have here? I count three so far. Four if it includes in cars.
My wife tried to kill me on my VFR and she's coming. Can she be an attempted murderous son of a beech?

Rooms still available:
- Twins - sold out
- Double - 1 space left (share with Veefer800Canuck)
- Semi-Private (4 people in one room) - 4 left
- Dorms - 14-15 spaces left (I'll try and keep this to minimums as long as we can cover basic costs of the facility - we're close already)
If you've said you are coming please go to the main page of the post and sign up for dinner and the t-shirt (optional). There isn't a rush but the sooner I know the total numbers the quicker I can arrange for food, drinks, etc. If you're planning on coming and you're a local it would be great if you'd kick in for a shirt or the meal to help balance out the costs for all members - it's a good deal for beer, meal and t-shirt.
Have a great New Year's Eve everyone!
mike
HNY2U2, Mike!
Again: thank you so much for your efforts in making this happen.

If you're in the area you should come by.
I'm debating which bike to ride and may not even have the VFR by July. You can come on whatever you can ride in on!
Cast the blasphemer out! But that AT will be sweet, Mike.
