Soooooo when is the next TMac????
I can't wait. It was a great time. I really loved 28, it was a fun road!!!!!!!!!!
I want to RIDE MAN!!!!!

Looks great Doug. I also like the 05 06 front, (the black directs the air right at the oil cooler and looks almost OEM) looks a little cleaner and flows better with the lines. Plus I love the new side covers, I still have not messed with my side panels yet. I wish we could get both our bikes together sometime for some pictures.
I thank you again for your help on my build.

I just threw up in my mouth

OK, I am just paranoid.
The pictures do not show the slight feathering, but I will not worry about it.
Thanks for the help!

I will try to get some pictures tonight after work. ONLY the front tire is feathering on outer edges. Not much chick strips front or rear.
All the bearings are good (all NEW), marid2apterbilt told me to try 34/40 psi for the tires when I first got the tires.
The bike seams to hold a line good. Brian (VF-1R) helped me set the sag last year and I have not changed a thing after that.
I guess I will start with setting tires back to OEM 36/42, and recheck the sag.
Thanks for all your input.
Okay - I'ma ask these questions and I'm not trying to be a smart-arse or anything... But, you indicated in one of your posts that you weigh in at about 235 lbs. I remember reading a thread on another forum that had suggested PSI for riders above the average 180 lb rider, or for running two-up. Should you adjust your PSI to accomodate?
I'm thinking that this might be just how it is when you put a big guy on a bike running low tire pressure... you wind up with some feathering.
Have you noticed any difference whatsoever in your ride quality? Any front end/bar wobble? Does the ride get a little choppy at certain speeds?
That makes a lot of since. (my big but and low tire pressure).
The ride quality seams great, BUT this is the my first time on the Power Pures. They have really good turn in. No choppy ride at all (but the tires are a little out of balance any thing above 65mph, I just had them put on the day before we left for T-Mac)
I am setting the tires pressure to spec and going to try the Dyna Beads. (not tried them yet).
I still can NOT upload my pictures.
(I have even tried uploading some old ones that I have uploaded before with NO luck.) will try later.
Thanks for the info.

Sorry, I have been trying to down load a few pictures of my tires, but it will not up load.
Keep getting "This upload failed" I have tried different pictures and all doing the same thing. Will try again tomorrow.

OK, sorry for the dumb question. But I have NO idea about setting up a bike.
First off its a 4th gen with stock forks that have been rebuild with gold vales, 1.0 springs , rear has 929 rebuilt (all by JDMotorsports). I weight about 235 ready to ride, and trying out the new Power Pures.
I think the bike handles great (but I do not know what it should feel like).
The problem is the front tires are starting to feather a good bit. (It was all from about 1200 miles from T-Mac last month.) I ride at a decent pace, but NO racer. I just want to get the most out of the bike and the tires.
I have NO idea what adjust what on the rear ( which is compression and which is rebound? top or bottom?)
Thanks for the help.

Hello!
First off great forum I am really enjoying reading through all the material here great knowledge base.
So I thought I would put it to good use, I have a 1995 VFR 750, I have brought it back to life from a bike that had been sat in a barn for 3 years, I am on my final hurdle.
I took the bike off to be MOT tested here in the UK and noticed the speedo was not working. After a lot of head scratching I think based on the minimal voltage coming back from the speed sensor it is this that is playing up! (its not the plastic connector that attaches to the sprocket either).
I am struggling to locate one for my generation of bike however I noticed there are plenty for the vfr 800 Fi and was wondering if anyone knew if it was the same sensor? as it looks identical.
Also what sort of fluctuating voltage should I be reading from the sensor as mine was giving out a max of 0.017v
Thanks in advance
Francis
I think I have a good used one I took off my 95. If interested shoot me a PM.
and welcome to VFRD. Lots of great info here and everyone is very helpful.
Enjoy your ride!

Traded my stock wheel + $150 for my 8 spoker. Spent another $50 powdercoating it black.
I've heard the wheel fits happily (at least on a 5th gen) but is it the same sized tyre as the 5th/6th gen? If so, is anyone noticing detrimental handling changes on 8-spoke mod'd 5th/6th gens?
I believe the 3rd/5th/6th gen all have a 5.5 inch rim (180 tire), only the 4th gen got the 5in

YES! YES! YES! I got the 19th to the 23rd OFF!!!!!!!
It will be my first T-Mac:woohoo:.

The dancing melon slices tell me the pure is a better tire, It sure looked pricey as well.
I am sure being Michelins latest it is great, it looks like the old pp prices are dropping so I will stay with those.
Go with the pures if you have the cashola $$ imo, but dancing melon slices, pics of angels, and #s for lean angles are not gonna make me pay double.
hhhmmmmm, NOW $255 shipped is a good deal here, LTT means tires are 2 #s lighter each
I got mine from a dealer in Knoxville for $253 shipped per set so you may be able to find them cheaper online.
If you want the info for the dealer PM me..
I got mine here in Mooresville,NC from Hard Racing for $241.36 out the door. You might find them cheaper on line as he said.

You can buy 1.0's from www.sonicsprings.com for $80 + shipping, or you let me ship you a set of .90's for $75... what do you weigh?
Well I am a little on the heavy side. About 235-240 ride ready.
Thanks for your help.
In that case you should probably go with the .95's. I'm a bit less than that with the dead cow on.
I have a pair at the house and I'll check the rating and let you know.
That would be AWESOME:woohoo:.
Thanks

Hello,
I am changing out the fork oil in a set of 4th gen forks and looking to replace the stock springs. I am looking for some 1.0kg/mm Springs. Anyone know where I can get some at a good price?
Thank you,
Travis

Hope you didn't buy those for the DRAGON.
Y not for the Dragon? I have been running PP2CT's and love them.
I just got a set and plan on putting them on for T-Mac. (wanted to try them out)

 I LOVE them also. They GRRRRRRRREAT!!!! Very comfortable and sound awesome and really keep the noise down even if I just want to use them as "ear plugs" I got mine off FleeBay for about $65 and well worth it. They come with different size ear buds and new filters. I can wear them all day.
Take them back say they dont work, cause well they dont. And get some Entomolic ER6's Best motorcycleing earphones on the market yet!!!

I think it looks really good. I know its only a mock up and if you do go with it it will look OEM. Keep up the good work and keep us posted.
Is anyone making spacer plates for a 4th Gen Shock Swap?

Well, I got my rear shock modified by JamieDaugherty, He is on here (VFRD) here is a link to his web page DM. Looks awesome and fit great. I had him do the works while he had my shock (rebuild, revalve, correct spring for my weight).
Here is some pictures to show you what it looks like.
I hope this might help you out some.
