Yes, should go on the sprocket side IIRC. Pit-Bull is quality stuff.

Gasket discussion starts around post 70 or so of this thread.

My set might sit on the shelf for this season.... just didn’t want to miss out! First time in a decade someone actually pulled something like this off!

I saw and realized it wasn’t torqued was just hoping for an indent!

Cylinder 1 looks as they should but not squished at all?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
You want the larger gaskets so the Inner Diameter when squished isn’t sticking out into the airflow.
I think you’re overthinking this.

Fitting headers is always a bit of a battle. Beats trying to do em on a V8 car though....

Haven’t got round to mine yet and will be a while as I’m basically ticking off several boxes (R/R, VFRness, Ohlins, Headers, Staintune, PC3 & solo tail box mount)... but I’d expect a fair bit of fiddling to get a proper header installed. Rubber mallet and 2x4s are your friends.

Or temperature mitigation.

That looks like something prime to 3D print too... if someone has a drawing I could look into it...

Haha.... I was considering selling my VFR... but this header situation was too good to pass up. So header means I need a slip on, and a PC3... and shoot.... the shock is *right there* while you’re doing the headers so....

Like I said, no way was I gonna let this pass without getting in on the fun. These things getting pulled off like this don’t happen very often. Thanks you guys!

They are most likely 180 degree cranks like the VFR, NC13-NC24 had 180 degree cranks, NC30 & 35 had 360 degree (like the RC30/45 and early VFxxxF).
Of course they could have later motor swaps or crank/cam swaps. IDK if the earlier engines are compatible with the later parts though.
They are not.

PM’d, just keep me posted. This is too amazing not to get in.

Still taking deposits for 5th gen headers? Not in a rush, but the progress shows!

On our heavily built NC30’s, full on SBK builds we are running stock air-boxes and stock air filters. The only setup that nets noticeable gains (we’re talking 2.5 HP on our 80 HP 428cc engines) is fully open air boxes with either proper ram air and a sealed tank to make a big volume air box or open trumpets and an open tray. Anything K&N ish tend to not make more power than stock and cause running issues on the carb’s bikes. My engine builder is running FI too and going back to stock-ish airboxes and filters until he can find something better. Can’t do open anymore because any crash ingests dirt.

Also glad to see his reference to Marren Fuel Injection. I sent all 8 of my BMW 540i’s injectors to them when I did my timing chain and guides service. I was extremely happy with the results, and the car purrs like a kitten. So smooth... it’s hard to imagine for a 18 year old car with almost 200,000 miles.
Happy injectors are certainly a part of that.

Regarding a fuel map & why people never generally see the same result with a downloaded map, you need to read this http://www.robsdyno.com/injectors_tuning_massachusetts.html
Makes a lot of sense !
Rob’s a good dude and my local source. He loves having me wee four on the dyno

MadSci and boOZZIE - I was a skeptic about headers until I rode RVFR's 5th gen. When we traded bikes for 20 or so miles of twisties, his 5th gen was set up exactly as mine was except for the headers: both bikes had PC3, stock engine, and Staintune high mount slipons. He had installed a TBR header and the package had been tuned by an extremely good dyno tech. My mind was forever warped.
I’m hoping this is where we are heading, meaning these headers + this tune will amount to a proven recipe... and I’ll take a heathy midrange over peak #s any day of the week.

Sounds good Scottie. BTW, you have discerning taste in race bikes!
Ha! Thanks.... waiting on a new header for my NC30 too. My TBR is a bit long in the tooth....

Can’t wait for the results. 99% I’ll be in for a 5th gen header.

Not sure if anyone's waiting for a 5th gen header or not, but I may be selling mine... still in the box as I received it.
Willing to move for exactly what I have into it. PM if interested.
