Nice! Congrats!!
Looks heavier but fun. Is it? Will this be a better tourer?
Nothing like a new set of wheels to make you feel alive.

8 hours BR?!?!? Dear god...
I have finally put mine together, I am happy with the product! I have broken a few tabs, swore a lot
but I realize that these are aftermarket and are a bargain at $500 shipped, painted to order. Some who you have seen the Frankenstein stitches(zipties) on my '94 that I thought looked Cool
. I still have to build right & Left hand lower stays & a left hand middle so I can bend it to reach the holes to attach the bolt, but zip ties to the rescue Look at the left side closely!
All in all for the $'s I am very happy with this purchase!
Congrats!!! Looks great..
Can't wait to see it in person.

Nice!!! That is a fantastic, dramatic looking bike. I like it quite a bit too. Has some of the dramatic, angular curves that initially attracted me to the 6th gen.
Enjoy!!

Awesome. One day you will graduate to the 6th Gen...
Just kidding. Glas you like it. I wish I had two to compare and enjoy.

When is a better time to see the rockies? June, July, or August?
@Polarbear: Where in BC would your recommend some clueless Americans go?
Lazyeye,
sorry for the late reply. In addition to all the nice route suggestions people have already made, maybe consider riding the South Okanagan and a bit further up north. If you're coming from the south --pretty safe suggestion, eh?--that would be your best bet I would think. Nelson and surrounding is full of good, nice, loooooong sweepers and nice scenery. In fact, this is where we are having a VFR meet in July.
I would also recomment you check out DestinationHighwaysBC. Their website is full of great roads, ranked by scenery, twistiness, engineering, etc. Take your pick. Lots of those roads are in Southern BC, some on Vancouver Island. But between Nelson and Kamloops, there are lots to choose from.
I hope this helps.
Good luck and ride safe.

I just don't know how to take this. Follow me and with the experiences you witness and partake in, your world will never be the same. I have kaleidoscope glasses to counteract the effects of experiences partaken in.Darn. Sorry you can't make it, fearless leader. We may have to resort to shadier characters, such as Superfunk to lead us... or worst, Randy!! ....
Please do let us know if we can do anything.
C
Hahahahah. Was just teasing you.

Come to BC! The weather is more predictable.

Oh Yeah!!

A light? Don't they all come with one?
I know! IT'S THE HORN!!!
I don't get it....
Hehehe -
Got it. If I were slugging it down and carving corners, I would not make it more than one or two corners...
I don't expect any problem, was just wondering what the law had to say about it. It will be at the bottom of my saddlebags and very likely not emptied that night that is why I was asking.
Cheers,

Randy, would you please refresh my memory and tell if, by any chance, you know what the law says about carrying open alcoholic beverages in a vehicle in BC?? I think that some other provinces used to be touchy about it. Never knew about this one... I understand that the chances of anyone finding a bottle of open scotch at the bottom of my saddlebags are slim but I still wonder what the legal system has in mind.
Thanks,
C
Never mind, I found it:
Liquor in a container that has been opened or has a broken factory seal must not be readily accessible to anyone in a motor vehicle, including both the driver and passengers.

Everyone paid up? If you are not staying at the hostel, you need to make your arrangements early in Nelson for Hotel rooms. I don't remember which hotel it was, but a group of us prepaid for several rooms a few years ago in Nelson for our Kootenay Ride of 2010. The hotel booked those room out from under us to another group. I swore I would never go to Nelson again because of that but here I am, going anyways. See what the consumption of spirited beverages will do to your soul?
Any scotch snobs in the group?
Me!

Fun to read. Very nice pics too. Please keep them coming.

I agree: red wine only. Am I right, Polarbear?
I think we should ban the consumption of spirited beverages.(Book early for Sunrise Yoga Classes,,..)
My question is "Will there be sunrise hangover management classes?"
If we must...............
But I might have to go sleep in Ainsworth then...... And then I would have the hot springs.....

Thanks Mike! Bike still hibernating. Way to cold to be riding...
Thanks for all your work to make sure this event is memorable. Yet again!!

Congratulations on your new purchase. I would love to own a 1200 for the new technology and shaft drive. You are a lucky man. Keep an eye out for the meet in Nelson this summer.
