My buddy bought an Airhawk for his VTR, for our last long trip. We swapped bikes for about 30 min's.... that's about all I could take. It raised the seat height positioning my body over the bars, which put waaay too much weight on my wrist's. It was secured tightly to the seat but it still rolled a bit from side to side creating back pains. After that trip he sold the Airhawk on eBay.

Check the banjo bolt for the front brake master cylinder...
I saw these on a VTR that was on eBay. Does anybody here know who makes them or where I can get them?

Here is the Service Bulletin for the harness recall, in PDF format. This also includes the upgraded wiring diagram. The front harness pays only 1.3 hours of labor... even worse is the entire harness only pays 2.4 hours labor. This hardly makes it worth doing, as your going to loose money on the deal as a tech. I suggest investigating the blue coupler yourself before you bring your bike in. this way you have some ammunition to get the whole thing replaced if it is truly needed.

Not to hijack the thread, but has anyone weighed the stock horn versus the Stebel? Curious about that too.
I forgot to weigh the Stebel before I mounted it, but the stock horn weighs 5.5oz.

I relocated the horn to that little cubbie hole by the rear brake reservoir. It was definetly a tight fit but... it works out pretty well IMO.
The horn seems to be just as loud as it was before, but is now sheltered from the elements.
I did all of the wiring in my living room following the instructions that were provided with the horn.
I used the reservoir bracket as the horn bracket as well. I used the tank pivot bolt as my ground source and mount for the relay.

Nooooo! :o don't face the trumpet opening forward and exposed like that.
You WILL end up with water in the horn which will kill it in no time, never mind the pathetic gurgling sounds you will get when you use it. Only do this if you have the opening on the trumpet well covered from direct air flow and rain with fairings.
I have already killed a couple of Fiamm snail horns making this mistake.
Safest way to install horns is to point their openings down or back as most horn makers say on their instructions. Watch out for the heat coming from the front head/headers too. It won't be friendly to the horn assembly plastics and electrics.

I was thinking the same thing... this was just the easiest location to mount it sine I just used the stock horn bracket. I bought a bracket and salvaged a bit of screen door mesh to use on the trumpet. I was thinking about moving it to the little open space on the right side of the bike, behind the battery. I'll let you know how it goes.
I'll also see if i can get a weight on both horns.

do you have to use the relay that comes with the horn? can you just hook it up to the existing horn wiring (since you'll probably be removing that junk stock horn anyhow)?

Sorry for the thread resurrection, but did you ever have any success with the LED bulb for the FI indicator?
