A little more detail on the cutting & drilling tools...
Go ahead and purchase two 1" bimetal hole saw bits. One will be ruined starting the cut between the inner and outer pipe. Once it's started, go to the good bit to finish the cut. Be patient, use lots of cutting oil, don't use too many RPM's, and stop very frequently to rake the shavings out between the two pipes with a flat screwdriver to prevent ruining your good bit.
