Member Contributer Tyke 5 Posted June 20, 2005 So it looks like you did Hwy 40. Beautiful ride isn't it. Not too much traffic either judging by your photos. Quote Link to comment

Member Contributer canucklhead 0 Posted June 24, 2005 This is Peter Loughheed provincial park in Alberta (aka Kannanaskis Country). There is a section of the road that is closed during the winter due to wildlife migration. I was there a few days after the road opened for the summer. There was zero traffic to speak of, at the higher elevations there was still snow in the ditches and one section was recently covered by an avalanche. Tyke: Did the K-Country loop from west end Calgary, Bragg Creek, Longview Hwy 40 and back to my place in 3.5 hours. Needless to say there were no LEOs to be seen. Quote Link to comment

superfunkomatic 133 Posted November 1, 2005 it's a terrific ride just outside of calgary. you can take highway 8 from calgary to bragg creek, then south to turner valley then off to longview (highway 543, i think) and highway 40. from there you have the choice of coming back to calgary on the trans-canada #1 highway or the 1A highway through morley and back around through cochrane and calgary's north end. great day trip and you travel on one of north america's highest highways (2206 metres). http://www.foundlocally.com/Rockies/Travel...-Kananaskis.htm thanx for sharing the pictures.
