scmiata1990 0 Posted May 12, 2007 What a nice to surprise to see my bike. The shot was taken at the beginning of a very nice section of road going towards a little village called Tera Nova in Southern Ontario. I've been back a few times this year. Last weekend I got a flat on a brand new Pirelli Strada. I carry a plug kit and a small bicycle pump and was in the long process of trying to get some air pressure, (5 minutes equaled about 7 psi) when a stranger pulled over in his truck and askedif I needed help. Upon explaining my problem he offered to let me use his compressor which was located 200 metres down the road. We followed him and had the flat fixed within 15 minutes. As we were about to leave I noticed a couple of slicks inside his garage and asked if I could have a look, (Slicks are always a good sign!). He had two pristine 1980's NR?? 250 cc Honda road race bikes that he vintage races. He said they pushed about 75 hp and weighed about 220 pounds!!! Cool guy. Thanks Ray. I put a new tire on tonight. A few $$ that I had not planned on spending but I tried to look on the positive side of the situation: I did not dump the bike when I had the flat and I met a total stranger that made an effort to help.
