Gen 7 Flat pannier lids

Howesnet

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I got a white VFR 1200F with panniers. I was looking around to get some smaller boxes and i found the attached picture of a Met Police bike with flat pannier lids. I have looked at various pictures from the front and rear and they appear to be genuine boxes and give the bike a slimmer profile.

At the moment, the original panniers come out wider than the mirrors.

Does anyone know if these lids can be obtained in UK, if so, where?

Also, these bikes have reflective detailing on the pannier lids and front mud guard. Does anyone know where i can get those.

I have searched the interweb for both of these and cant find them anywhere.

Any help greatly appreciated

TIA

The VFR in the picture belongs to the Met's elite (Special Espcort Group) SEG Unit. You'll find the panniers and reflective detailing have been supplied by the specialist company who supplies these bikes.

Something worth noting is the Pannier Lid, it is designed to suit the needs of SEG and is also customised on the inside. We've used a company in the past called Woodway Engineering to produce fully kitted BMWs and Yamahas. Similar with the BMW RT's used over here in the UK with their open top narrow panniers They started of as being third party modified and now officially produced by BMW and distributed across the world designated as RT-P's.

The flective detail is straight forward to replicate, search eBay and you'll find plenty of reflective self adhesive sheets which you can cut to shape. It's really that simple!
