Crazy88 Posted September 8, 2015 Share Posted September 8, 2015 Hey all, I'm really sorry to ask, especially given the previous posts but having just done a bit of work to nurse a prevously 'well used' VFR back to a roadworthy condition I've noticed the FI light comes on whilst braking or indicating and only when I've been riding with the headlights on. I've never worked on electrical stuff but this seems like a fault that a garage would charge a lot to troubleshoot so I was wondering whether anyone has had this specific problem (I know that there are a few variations around a theme) or could show me a methodical approach to finding the cause before I start pulling at bits of the loom... Snowdog Posted September 8, 2015 Share Posted September 8, 2015 I doubt this is reg/Rec trouble.. Had similar on my '98 and turned out to be corrosion on the Instrument panel PCB causing a short.
