Guest Acemon
My lovely '86 VF500 finally got it's carbs rebuilt. It runs like it was new. Billy Carr was able to supply the gaskets and O-rings kit (scarce as hens teeth), but the float valves were used on a lot of other bikes (Gold Wing) and easy to find. The mechanic was a stroke of luck because he raced a Miniceptor when they were new, giving him expert status for a 28-year-old machine. He did the carbs, a few other adjustments, plus offered good advice for the future, all for the bargain-basement sum of $150 labor. Anyone who lives in the Denver area, send me an e-mail if you want his number. Riding the Interceptor home reminded me of why it's my favorite bike. (photo of bike and babe was pre-Photoshop taken when the bike was new, but it works)
BillyZ
That sounds very reasonable. When I get things going on the whipcycle I will need to give him a shout.
