Guest Hatter Posted June 24, 2011 Share Posted June 24, 2011 Hello. UPS dropped my givi pl257 side racks and E35 cases today. I'm having problems mounting the side racks. The angle on the topcase rack is causing the lower mounts to not line up with the passenger peg location. Givi says that the fz257 topcase rack is needed to mount the pl257. Did you put the cross member piece back by the license plate first? I have the PL257 and FZ257. Look at one of the sport touring accessories websites to see if you have the right top rack. Guest Posted June 25, 2011 Share Posted June 25, 2011 Hello Yellowfuzz. I'm showing different style fz257's depending on the site. Can you tell me which style rack you have? Also, the rear bar going on first won't change the angle at which the racks go on due to the angle on my top rack, it puts my side rack at the outward front angle that you see. I had to make some little brackets to hold them on for the moment, as I'm out of town and need to get the bike home before I can order whatever is needed. Link 1 Link 2 I live in marshfield area. Can't understand why the angle of your side bag racks are so off. I see you have a spacer on your right side bag rack, do you have a high mount pipe? If so, send me a picture of that with the bag on. I'm looking at putting a high mount on mine. I'll be riding out to WI next year for my yearly trip to the homeland...I'll try and look you up. Let me know if I can provide any more info...
