ICE info is great, but the other thing everyone should have is direct contact info for the other people they are riding with. This came up at T-mac this year with me. Went out alone on Friday after following some one else back to the Hotel with a sick bike. At the time it never even clued in to me to have some one else's number incase something happened to me. Well after being gone for 5 hours having a heck of a good ride and getting new tires I got back to the hotel around 7pm Friday night to find out the local Sheriff was called to check if any riders had gone down, because a few people where worried about me. It did cross my mind to call the hotel and leave a message but like Kevin was saying, we know everyone by a screen name and maybe a first name, but to even get a last name and remember it. But I guess I could have called and just had that very nice young lady at the front desk and had her just pass a message on to some one and hopefully it would have got passed to the right person. Hind sight is 20/20 right?
So from now on, I'll make sure I've got a number for at least one person I'm riding with, incase I get separated again.

I've put about 75miles on the bike since I've added the new pegs. I really like it, however it does feel like a there is a little more weight on my arms now. Not sure if thats the case or its from not being on the bike for 4 months thanks to a little thing called winter

Can anyone post a photo of the Uly. pegs fitted to their VFR?
Took about 5 mins to swap it out...
Before
After
My right knee is now about 2inchs lower than before
However they are not a 100% fit, the VFR peg has an 8mm hole for pin, the Buel has an 11mm hole. So there is a little play, I added the extra washer and that seemed to tighen everything up nicely, however if you fold the peg up the spring does not pull the peg 100% back down in to place. But once in place it holds it there with no issue. I may still take a file to it, as the casing is not that clean on some of the edges.

Excellent....sounds good. As long as the Canadian/US part numbers are the same, I'll be ordering a set...
Thanks for the info...
Part numbers I got where from some one else's upgrade (I think the picutres belong to House) so they should be a US part number.

If anyone happens to know what year the Ulysses had the silver pegs and if that model year is the same as the new ones, that'd be appreciated too.
I picked mine up yesterday from the local HD parts place. Really nice group of people, told them I was putting their pegs on my Honda. Parts guy just smiled and said 'As long as you ride thats all matters.'
This part number is still good and yes they are silver, and half the price of the black ones. I think I paid $33canadian per peg for mine.
Have yet to install them, but just a quick side by side looks, shows a nice drop.
Ya Ya Ya I know, the bike needs to be cleaned, first ride of the year last week ending in a rain storm. I'm doing work to my house and don't have an outside tap for the hose installed yet.

There are also these ones....
Silver not black
I'm going to hit an HD dealer this week and see if this number is still any good.

Does this work for 6th gen VFRs as well? At 6foot4 and 195lbs my legs get pushed in to my nose and limits me to about 80miles before I need to get off and take a little walk around.

Talked to Garmin awhile back and they sent me a replacement battery. Problem still here. It starts sometimes - and not - MOST times. I have to carry an allen wrench with me to remove the battery which most times resets the Zumo to fire up. I forgot the allen key this last week on a business trip and I was FURIOUS when it wouldn't power up.
Hey Ken, from what I read in the Zumoforum there is a firmwear update to help correct this issue.

The standard VFR head lights will burn out your eyes, I bet those things will peal paint at a 100 yards now LOL

Your link didn't work for me but you need a RAM-B-231Z
If you buy the 550 and you should, don't pull a me and cheap out on the 450, which on top of bluetooth does not come with all the car mounts a $120+ package like the 550 does.
In the box you get the parts all the you need to connect it to your tank, other than some longer bolts

Yup went I was on my east coast tour last summer, my stuff went in one hard bag, walking shoes, a tool kit and sleeping bag in the other hard bag, tent netted to pylon seat and I was on my way.

Cool thanks didn't know I had to make the route yellow first :warranty:

Ok got a question about mapsource.
If you have ever played with Google Maps, you know you can put in a start and end point then just drag the route track line around to change it up a little, I can't seem to do that with Mapsource once it plots out a route for you, your stuck with what it gave you unless you want to draw the whole route by hand

Ok so I got my Zumo all setup on the bike I mean in the Car (bike is sleeping because of winter :pissed: )
And it works great, but now its dumb question time.
Why with a unit that can find my location anywhere in the world with in 20feet, but I have to tell it what time zone I'm currently in
You think the unit could figure that out on its own, please tell me I'm not smarter than all the guys at Garmin and no one has ever come up with that idea before? :idea3:

Too bad we just didn't have a 7th gear  a slab only gear, for those runs to and from the twisties, easy way to up the mileage
