thanks but i think anything pre 98, the ends are different....I have similar ones in black (long style) that do not fit

Sorry as I did search extensively on this topic......recently bought some new bar ends from ebay that had advertised "universally fits virtually all Japanese bikes including VFR". The ends do not fit my 3rd Gen. They are correct diamater but do not go flush to handlebar. The 3rd Gen has a flat mount vs a 'hole' for the end to go into? Any input or am i stuck trying to refinish my existing ends?
