Interesting to see what you're up to. Personally, I'd try the BMW bracket first to the obvious points, such as the footpegs hole, frame mounts, etc. Sometimes short bits of SS 1/8" strap work wonders. At minimum you learn what works and looks good before you expend a lot of time/money. What I did was to hold the bags with mounts next to the frame see where I liked them, than measured the strap length and started cutting and bolting onto the stock mount locations. Of course, I was using the previous version bags and a 3rd gen, but it worked out well.

Yessir, that's my plan. For now, next steps will be to make a cardboard mockup of the bracket as you see it, then use cardboard to mock up between that and the bike. I plan to essentially copy what one guy did over at the 'World, mounting 6th gen bags on a 5th gen: pick up at the passenger pegs and passenger grab handle holes.
