My soft bags are mostly packed, Jim will be here around 8 am and off we go, all good roads from Monroe all the way to Nelson. Hope I can sleep well tonight, like a kid going to Disneyland. Jeff call me, but we should be in Marblemount around 11:30 to 12. We'll gas up there and head on into Winthrop, park our bikes and head to the Old Red Schoolhouse for some Ruud Awakening, which won the Washington beer fest IPA a few years ago. Great place, new owners, apparently dedicated to preserving the original recipes.
See you in marblemount

It just never ends. Just got home from a vacation from hell. Problems with the trailer, the truck, tires on the trailer. Storms, rain, mud and all. Over $1500.00 in repairs alone between the truck and trailer.
Pulled into the house here at home and opened the front door. House smelled like a rendering plant. Refrigerator had stopped. Probably the day after we left four weeks ago. Repair man came tonight. Now we need a new fridge. Big ass pile of mail on the table. One was from Moose Jaw Police Service in Saskatchewan. A fooken photo radar ticket. THREE HUNDRED AND SIXTY GUDDAM DOLLARS!
I was kinda happy about coming back home with a couple hundred cash still in my pocket but that is gone for sure now. Good this this trip is pre-paid. I need the ride to clear the Red River Gumbo from my head.
Alright you win ..you can have the top bunk

Choco, if you can let me know what you are thinking for a route on Friday from Tonasket on........ Jimbob
I hope to convince them to do Chesaw and skip part of 20. that road kinda freaks me with 34468Randys past chats with the sheriff.
There are lots of great roads just south. Nespelem to Inchelium /Gifford over Chewelah mnt. Hmm this is got me thinking....?? would have a mutiny if tried to drag them on those roads lol
If your going through Kettle falls maybe we could meet u there for lunch a cool brew pub in a old warehouse called northern ales just.

I vote for a bar also. Who's going to have the energy to cook after a good days riding?! Certainly not me.

Hey Superfunky, it looks like Jim aka Bizbat and I are now planning to attend. Are we too late to register at your Eventbright, if so are there going to be some extra shirts?
Thats great you guys are going to make it. I thought you were doing a norcal tour this year.

I was probably going to ride up on the german concrete mixer so i will have to stop every 10 mins. Retirement sounds to dam busy! ashame not to take the longer scenic rout

Oh well. I guess so. We can have you tag along. I will post up meeting place and time a week before hand.
I think we were talking about taking 2 days to get there cause were old and slow.. we could do duffy- marble canyon or hwy 8 stay in kamloops (alpine) then Lumby fauquier ?

hmmmmmm.
I have made numerous trips to nelson, creston, castlegar, trail, kaslo , new denver, nakusp, revelstoke and numerous laps beyond that, and I have never had any tickets or trouble, nor have i heard of any one else having big problems in bc.. i do not ride like a slow poke, but i try to not be obnoxious either.
just my experience.
looking forward to loads of fun!
I agree, goes without saying vfrd group is always been a great group of respectful riders who knows the appropriate time and place.
In BC area that is truly over patrolled with ridiculously low speed limits is sea to sky hwy west van to Squamish and we are nowhere near that.
Can't wait counting the days!

With all this talk of kootenay Motorcycle Noise petition Not sure if this article was posted. Sounds to me like its just the same old NIMBY rhetoric.

I'm 98% confident that by the time this meet happens I will no longer have my VFR either. The dawn of the Africa Twin.
African Twin Nice.... Having buyers remorse now. Looking Forward to your thoughts on your new ride and off road reports.
...
E-Ticket and the Flying Ant are coming to ride with y'all.
Will talk w/ my wingman this weekend and commit on a room later this weekend.
Cheers! - ET
Good deal for you southerners, your loose pocket change = zillion kanuckistan pesos.
Great to see Flying Ant and her official backer upper are coming.:)

When we get closer to the date, I will try to arrange a group convoy of those from the Fraser Valley. Looks like we will be reasonably represented. Even the ride to Nelson from here is a nice ride. The Crowsnest Hwy (Hwy3) is a nice bike ride almost the whole way. Have to hustle my but back home right after though for my wedding anniversary. Someone would not be amused if I were out riding about then.
Thats a great idea.
Video of what Randy's last rout to the kootenay was, you can see him on his white bike demonstrating precise parking technique at 3 minute mark into video.

Sounds good,
I didn't ride nearly as much as I'd have liked last summer so am going to try to make both events.
