Did you find the solution to this issue? I have 99 model with low mileage, previous owner kept bike in the garage for about 15 years. The same symptoms as yours, pushing the caliper by hand releases the brakes. I noticed drag after I replaced brake fluid this spring. Replacement of brake caliper seals did not help. Suspect either hoses or brake master cylinder, was looking for the replacement of hoses when found this post.
