JakeStockwell
Hi All, Sorry if this is dull dull dull (Reg/Rec wiring) but I have a MOSFET unit that I want to use on my '92 VFR750FN & while the old reg/rec connector has one positive and one earth wire the replacement MOSFET unit I have has two of each, soooo do you guys (& girls) think that it's Ok to splice the two positive & two negatives together & wire them to the battery (with inline fuse for the positive)? This would allow me to leave the OEM connector hanging loose, and to also not send any current through the OEM wire to the starter relay, where there is a small hole in the plastic body where the reg/rec wire joins the connector caused, I imagine, by excess heat generated by a poor connection. The connector from the stator looks good & the voltage from the stator is good across the three phases, so I'm hoping that the MOSFET and reduced load on the starter relay should equal Happy Trails... Thanks for reading! ;-)
JakeStockwell
Aha! I got a reply from Joshua over at wiremybike.com who kindly replied to my query & let me know that it's fine to splice two into one. ;-)
