  1. I am located in the Greater Toronto Area and I am looking to sell both the stock exhaust and the Staintune exhaust for my VFR800. How much could I get for it? I would prefer a local deal so there is lower sick of getting scammed online, but I am open to also selling online and shipping it? I thought I would ask you guys before I post with a price that is too low or too high.

This bike is is going to be stripped and every single part is for sale! The bike has been wrapped in cammo colour but you can easily take it off. I can ship the parts to every country in the world. I am based in the Netherlands. I have no fairings of the bike left. I only have the mud guard and a red seat cowl :) On the bike is an Delkevic exhaust which is very cool! (SOLD) The exhaust system is not good anymore. The brakedisks are in good shape.   3. Hello all, I could use your expert guidance! The time has come, I think I'm finally going to replace my current trusty steed, a 3rd gen 1992 VFR750. She still runs well but plenty of cosmetic wear and it's time to pass it on to a beginner rider. After doing all the research to identify the next best motorcycle made since then ... I've decided that the 8th generation VFR800 is the one to buy. To be honest, I was surprised at how little Honda has changed the VFR in 25 years. All in all that's not a bad thing. I am not interested in 200 more cc's and 50 more hp or anything like that. But like everyone, I wish Honda would put some effort into weight reduction. Anyway, now I have the big dilemma of whether to get a basic model or the DLX. I am told the DLX offers 4 things: antilock brakes, traction control, heated grips, self cancelling turn signals. My usage would include plenty of commuting in the city and weekend trips, mostly year round on everything from wet roads to high desert canyons. From a 25+ year rider who isn't accustomed to the DLX features, are these really worth the extra dough? Warm hands are nice but aren't the heated grips an easy to install kit? I like the idea of antilocks but i can't see the need for traction control at all. Haven't had the chance to test ride the Deluxe model yet and unfortunately it sounds like ordering one means commiting to buy one. Local dealer has a 2014 basic model on the floor for $8k (plus all the fees and taxes and stuff). I inquired about a DLX model and was told they could get one, and the price would be about $10k plus fees/tax/etc, to be verified. Seems like cycletrader has a few scattered around the nation for $1k or so less, though I infer some of these might be demo models with milage and some light wear. Or is my local dealer too expensive? Couple more questions: - is the solo seat cowl standard equipment? - is the centerstand standard equipment? - has anyone fitted legacy Givi Monokey side cases (flat back like E21 and E360)? My VFR750 currently has a Givi Wingrack & good condition hard cases that are fantastic. Would anything stop me from transferring the old Givi kit over? I know the side case & pannier rack design has changed from what I see on the Givi site, but how hard could it be to just form my own adapter fit kit to the Wingrack? Anyone recommend other options?   5. I haven't been very active on the forum for a while. (years?) It's partly due to having young kids, which require lots of time, and partly because I worked from home, and didn't have a commute. The part I'm happy about is that I'm not giving up riding... We've had some big changes recently, including a new job I relocated for. The new job happens to be at Harley-Davidson! There's no pressure to get rid of my bike from anyone at work, but I do feel I'm ready to leverage our employee discount. I actually get lots of compliments, and nobody believes my bike is 18 years old. I still giggle every time I ride it. It just feels like a caged animal in the city, so I feel it would be happier getting longer rides. Depending on the interest, I might remove some things and sell them separately. I definitely didn't expect to be a Harley owner anytime soon, but things happen! I'm not going full-bagger (yet) ,but I did find a model with a great mechanical presence, like the VFR. The primary chain whine is not as great as the gear whine, but it sure doesn't sound over-refined, either.
  6. Hey All, I need a little help from the crowd; it is time to sell my 1997 VFR and I need an idea on the price. Here are some details and feel free to ask any questions. I'm sure some are wondering 'how do you have a 16 yr old bike w/ only 4300 miles', here are the cliff notes. I sold my Ducati 851 Superbike (uncomfortable) and bought the VFR then all my friends quite riding, I bought a Miata, switched jobs, moved, got married, bought a dirt bike, wrecked the dirt bike, broke both arms and legs (ouch) and here I am. This is the last of my bikes to go as it is my favorite. The bike is about as perfect as one would expect to find w/ this low of miles, always garaged, covered, and pampered. It's a 1997, 4350 miles, perfect shape, one adult owner, purchased new by me and always garaged. Within the last 300 miles it has: a new battery, new Michelin Pilot Sports (still have the nubs), carburetors cleaned and synchronized, valve clearances checked (w/ pix), new spark plugs, air filter, and voltage regulator. All the work has been done by myself as I am very anal about my bikes and cars. It currently has a Micron pipe (very nice, deep, sound) but I have the stock pipe as well. I have the original owners manual, shop manual, and tool kit, plus the factory rear seat cowl and balancing adapter for the rear wheel. I may be selling the pipe, shop manual, cowl and other accessories separately, but not sure as of yet. It has a throttle lock for comfort, and tank pad to stop scratches. I probably have a few other item to sell/go with the bike but need to gather a list. What do you think it's value is? I have seen a few '96/'97's in the $2000-$4000 range but with 12K to 50K+ miles. This bike is a great example and a true survivor for someone who wants a 4th Gen VFR; tell me what you think. Once I have a better idea it'll be in the classifieds. TIA Bruce
