It will do that for a while until the chain becomes clean. I think the default settings are pretty good. I've run mine about 10,000 miles now. We have had a fair amount of wet and rain this winter so the weekend before last was my first long highway run in dry weather. I did 800 miles in two days, with some short stretches over 100mph. I discovered that the #3 setting is a bit high for extended highway runs in dry weather. I just started turning mine down to 2.
Thanks....Most of the weekend was some highway stuff soo..... maybe I'll do what I can and help clean the chain..it's fairly new so it has some of the thick stuff on it that elizilla mentions. But the sprocket is nice and clean right now...those were new as well.
