it was a RACE ONLY wheel. aka pushing the limits on what it can take..thats why they get paid the big bucks. far lighter than a stock vfr road tested and approved rim. if you notice.. the SPOKES all had broke.. not the bolt area at the center.

get some lipstick! i use HOT PINK!! put lipstick on the bolt ends and slide wheel on. it will perfectly mark where you need to start shaving.

You sure you're not thinking about Armor All??? Never had a problem with WD 40 for the many years I've been using it on many things electrical and mechanical....... WD 40 water displacement 40th attempt it does increase the drying out of paint and plastics that includes wire sheathing 51% Stoddard solvent 25% liquefied petroleum gas (presumably as a propellant; carbon dioxide is now used instead to reduce WD-40's considerable flammability) 15+% mineral oil (light lubricating oil) 10-% inert ingredients wd40 CLAIMS to be paint safe.. but i have seen more than a few paint jobs get splotchy after being sprayed.

you just need a metal holder..something like this..

wd40 helps speed up the ROTTING of the wire harness and rubber parts. its doesnt get anywhere NEAR my bike or the bikes i work on.. unless its for something metal on metal.

thats not flexibility thats forced misalignment... its designed to fit onto a nut and have the drive fit in a slot.. with NO play.and nothing to adjust if it was some some kind of springloaded 3 piece, then it would be a different story

WHAT???? how do the nylon ones adjust?? its one solid chunk of junk mine was dead before 6000 miles.. forget 60,000!! Im over 100,000 miles and on my second one, never had one fail yet, just replaced as a proactive measure from wear.. the nylon one is a press fit , that offers some flexibility with mounting, I doubt the aftermarket aluminum would offer the same tight but flexible fit. yes they are press in.. the nylons are NOT flexible at all. they are rock hard. and every one i have replaced has been the same. not that many .. but i was working as the head tech in a honda stealership

wow! you guys crack me up about grip prices i cant tell you how many $200 grips i have put on all the trailer queens i have worked on.. its funny.. the bikes that shake the most, always have all metal grips..

I don't remember.. I think you can just unplug it.. it that doesn't work. Use a test up wire. If that works.. then cut the wires and soilder them up :) Just don't drive with your kickstand down :P

hit a breaker yard. get a new harness and a stock dash if you where over here up the road at Warrington PA.. i would take a look at it myself.

then run the vapor.. all you have to do is wrap the speedo wire around the brake line.. its so easy a caveman can do it .

bicycle computer wireless speedo. the 4th gen has a mechanical speedo.. so the fastest simplest way is a bike speedo. lots of streetfighters use them.

if your tach works and you just want speedo.. use a back lit bicycle computer, only $20

when she wants a bigger bike.. get her a rebel 450 !! throw a harley split tank on it for better looks and she will have the best cruiser around.

after some asshat stole my vfr while i was in AZ for mmi.. i got myself a rebel for $500.. and WOW!!!!! after putting the smallest sprocket possible that little baby FLEW up and down rt17!!!! and it was SOOOO smooth. being deaf. i i swear the motor died at 75mph.. but then i realized i was STILL passing people. not sure what the top speed was, but i was beating all the car traffic the rebel has different rear sprocket sizes for various years.. get the smallest. and a 1 or 2 tooth larger front sprocket.
