  1. HELP! I am putting my front end back together and have searched the site exhaustively. Does anyone know of the existence of a formula for determining the correct lenght for the spring spacer after a complete overhaul of the front end? I am thinking it should be something like stock free spring length and new free spring lenght differential to find the additional lenght to add for the new spacer length. This does not take into account the difference in spring rates. I went from stock rate to .95 kg straight rate.
  2. My bike is apart for a winter freshening. I am installaing the Wilbers rear shock (arrived yesterday) and the racetech springs and Gold Valve kit. I was able to secure a pair of bent F3 forks for the rebound adjustability. I need some help. The F3 forks cam apart rather easily, specifically the aluminum cover over the bottom of the fork that prevents access to the compression valve. This part was in the fork tube after I disassembled th forks. Perhaps because of the bend and additional force needed to get the cartridge out fo the F3 tubes. On my VFR cartridge, that part is very secure. I have watched Paul Thede's video on rebuilding forks and reread HS original post when added the gold valves before he scored the F3 forks for this post but I still can't get those parts off. I don't want to clamp them inthe vice, any other adVICE? Keith

Dang nice looking bike! I am not into the chrome swingarm but I love the execution of your personal touches. USD forks and shaving the dumbo ears jump out at you as the way it should have been from Honda. Excellent job Safe-T. keith

I forgot how crappy my 5th gen looks cause I get on from the left and hardly ever see that side...

  9. Thanks for taking the time to write up your experiences here. I have been reading about many different track based schools and was leaning towards Freddies. I am more than a little concerned about "unlearning" 30+ years of riding and over 220K on two wheels. I am still leaning towrds FS's school.
  10. For this pic you need a shirt or a jacket that poses this question: "Does this bike make my butt look fast?" Yes it does. Great looking 4th gen as well, love the body mods, the headlight treatment threw me off the year when I saw the group photo from the superflaf ride. keith

I hadn't seen any of the Alpine Stars Road Racing Bikinis off the rack and modelled properly. Thank you for this timely public service posting.
  12. So, for a 2001 I should just get a PCII to go with a 98-99 exhaust, and eliminate the O2 sensors? I just recieved the PCIII USB that i ordered. Now I hear that the PCII lets me have control of more than just fuel input...
