  3. No worries, I got ya'll covered.
  4. I will have gps route files available after the weekend. I can either post them up or email them out to those who can use them.
  5. There is a laundry mat right across the street. Self serve or full serve. I think we paid $7 and it came back clean, fluffed & folded.
  6. Event added to the official VFRD Calendar . . . of . . . events. Feel free to RSVP, but the official count for shirts, meals and such are done at 33. See ya'll in 1 month (today)!

  8. Great questions? Perhaps you / or whom ever books first can ask and let us all know. Cheers,
  9. Yes, that would be 2 weeks before the Tuesday. I may suggest ordering early, also to book your install day/ time well in advance. Rapid City is approx 50 N of Custer. On the "Finding Nemo" route. They should be in their new location by the end of June. Pick whatever day suites you - arrival day / during the week / departure day.
  10. Added info about Rice Honda Suzuki coming on as our event Bike Shop sponsor. They're providing a 35% discount for those who pre-order tires at least 2 weeks +, prior to the meet. Also providing prizes for the event. Not sure if we'll see them down in Custer, but for those taking advantage of this offer, you'll see their brand new shop (opening end of June). Looks like a sweet place - pic to come later. Thanks to everyone who registered and looking forward to wrapping up the final details. Now, to get my bike working. . . . .
  11. Nothing like cutting it close. Glad to have you!
  12. Thanks for picking up the room vfrcapn! The hosts do appreciate us coming. Just a last day reminder, the link for registration will be removed tomorrow. I'll be finalizing the shirts, meals and such over the weekend and placing the order(s) on Monday.
  13. Not to worry, we'll be well represented. Pack a shirt instead of a flag and enjoy the adventure.
  14. Um, ya - I guess this would be a good idea. Haven't been on the bike since July last year. Only 6 weeks to go. The pressure feels like cramming for exams the night before. Hoping to solve the non-starting issue this weekend and get out on some seat time.
  15. Bumping the thread - updated the first post with current details. Tick tock for fence sitters.
  16. That was a sheep and nasty 1 night stand. She herd I was passing through, wanting a relationsheep. I wasn't going to pull the wool over her eyes. Between ewe and me, it was shear inhibition then I hoofed it out there.
  17. Two more added to the list. Still waiting for Spring to load, as daylight savings is now in effect. Hope to have final logo & shirt designs completed this month. The meal menu is done. Still working on a few 'things' and the swag bag.
  18. Great to see all the early interest and registrations coming in. A big part of choosing Custer & SD as the destination was the monuments in the area, giving a chance to see some incredible sites, perhaps even bucket list items. The day rides include stops at some of the most known, with time for getting off the bike, checking them out, taking pics. Of course, there are a bunch of cool, little back roads and smaller vistas to search and enjoy. I'll be providing a list & route(s) to many of these, some you may know, some you may be surprised to see. Here are links to the day ride routes I have so far. I'll be creating GPS files as well (through TYRE) and making them available too. Finding Nemo The Devil's Day Please note: The route(s) may change slightly, as certain roads are currently closed (seasonal) and will show accessible in late spring. Plus, there will be maps. Ya'll know I like maps. So ya, there will be maps. Big Maps? Pocket Maps? Fold-able Maps? Plastic Maps? MAPS!!! As usual, we'll arrange for groups of 8-10 with leaders/sweepers.
  19. Maybe a few brave souls should 'dorm' up with the last few family rooms. Yes, it's stepping out of your zone, but that's how great friendships start. Besides saving some $$$, most every VFRD member I've met is a good egg. Just .02¢ worth.
  20. Registration link has been added to lead thread post. The registration must be accessed from a computer, NOT a phone or tablet. If you have trouble with the link, or have any other questions regarding the registration, please PM me, so as not to overload the meet thread. I'll be adding more stuff, like day ride download page & gps files, meals, and shirt details as they become available.
  21. There is 1 Queen room and 2 family suites left at the Rocket. Otherwise, we have pretty much the whole place for the SUMSUM. Anyone on the fence or looking at the Chief across the street - now is your chance to book into the Rocket Motel. All events & festivities will be hosted on the back patio/ Gazebo at the Rocket. Everything is within walking distance. Worked on the daily ride route options for Wed & Thursday. Have Thursday nights dinner booked - menu pending. Trying to figure out a registration means, trying to avoid the fees at Eventbrite to stretch every dollar. Logo is in final design stages. Starting to evaluate shirt types, colours, etc. Expanding on (ehem) other things for the event to be memorable. Route from BC is done. We'll be arriving late Sunday, so as to have Monday to prep all the stuff for ya'll to start rolling in Tuesday.
  22. I'm dying to know what that street is called? So many of your aliases are running through my mind. I'll be checking your cell for the pic when you arrive!
  23. Thanks Axel, Great to see the early interest in the SS4. I guess this means I really need to do this. Now that the Christmas week is here, I'll be working on the event minutia including registration. I'm not using PayPal anymore so I need to come up with new registration options. Will most likely use Eventbrite again. Last few times I paid a higher than expected amount due to currency exchange & bank fees. I may have to seek out a US member to act as treasurer or something. Been working on a logo. Still needs tweaking. Stay tuned in the coming week for the updates as I get them sorted. Heck, I still need to figure out what I'll be riding ???
  24. The laundry service is a few doors down, beside the Family Dollar at the 'Lost Sock'. We used them last summer and yes, for $8 they wash/dry/fluff/fold. In the new year I'll be updating the lead post with additional area details and working on the itinerary for the event.
  25. Located across the street, is the Chief Motel. 605.673.2318 www.chiefmotel.com I have NOT spoken to them nor checked into this location, other than seeing they have a 4.5 star rating on google maps. There is also a Best Western a ½ mile S on Mt Rushmore Rd. 605.673.2275. Again, no knowledge on this location, other than a 3.9 rating on google maps.
