A very pleasant 1st of November made for a 2nd great photo opportunity at Victoria's Inner Harbour

I'm seldom out near dawn or dusk so I admire your work ethic. Lovely shot that stands apart from the majority.

What a lovely shot, great lighting and colour. The bike isn't too shabby, either 😉
  4. Aha, I guessed correctly that it was Independence Pass. One of many fantastic places Colorado has to offer. I'll have to get back there some day.

Looks like a great place for a bike ride. Of course, 2011 was a much simpler age.

Photos like this remind me how much I miss my red '98 800. Thanks, for sharing.
  7. Great photo, Slo1. Love how you framed it to show that small glimpse of road to come.

Lovely afternoon shot on the California coast. I always seem to ride it in the morning under a low overcast.

Looking south across the straight to the cloud covered Olympic Peninsula in America's Washington state. It is 20 miles and a 90 minute ferry trip from here in Victoria, BC, and how my summer trips usually start. Sadly, not this year.

  10. My SLR and camcorder weighed it down a bit 😉 but as I recall I stuffed my electric vest in the upper compartment so it wasn't too heavy.

Going to the Sun is a great ride. My last trip there was in the summer of 2014. Sadly, heavy traffic and a massive amount of roadwork that day. Didn't spoil the fantastic scenery, though.

Love the colour and the mood it sets in this photo. Well done

Yep, and it is a lovely stretch of NorCal's coast.
  14. Lovely photo. The scene reminds me of quite a few places in Oregon and NorCal. C'mon springtime.

I recognize that spot, it's one of my favourite parts of PCH. Starting southbound from Garberville or northbound form Fort Bragg makes for a great morning's ride.
  16. Lovely shot - a moody scene with great colour

The shade was thanks to it being 7:30 am on the first of May, and having a mile-high mountain right behind where I am stood. We had pleasant temperatures during our visit to Death Valley; highs (according to my VFR) were ~34℃ / 93℉, and 19/66° around 7:30 am. Atop 1660m/5500' Dante's View the morning before it was barely 7/45°. ps. I wrote about my trip here: https://www.vfrdiscussion.com/index.php?/forums/topic/78012-california-tour-2014/

Ooh, ooh, I know where that is. And was just there about a week ago. Fantastic road - I prefer west-to-east. What say you?
  21. Looks like a great ride though I bet the snow made it feel a little colder. I'm taking the shortcut over Beartooth this summer, but won't make quite as far east as this.

  24. It'll just bolt right on aways trips me up, even with the smallest tasks. Of course, these little issues pose no problem to you. I'd love to hear your what you have to say about the SP1 a couple years down the road. And I bet I'm not alone.
