Whilst on the topic of Monitor Pass I'd suggest stopping for a beverage & rest in Markleeville, either before or after your transit.
Sure, you could stay at South Lake Tahoe, but I prefer the Bridgeport Inn (which has a great restaurant, btw) a ways south on US 395.
And for those who haven't seen it I offer this video showing the summit and eastward descent from my 2003 & 2014 rides. Though my pace was very similar it required a little tweaking to keep them synchronized. Hope you like it.

What a lovely view of Monitor Pass, one of my favourites in the Sierra Nevadas. It's about 20 miles from the jct with Cal-4 and US-395, about the same as Cal-1, the Pacific Coast Hwy, from the coast to Leggett. Of course, Monitor Pass's open sweepers are in total contrast with the nasty tight curves on that stretch of PCH.

Utah 24 through Capital Reef NP, east of Torrey, is one of my favourite roads. Last went through there in '12, dodging heavy showers and the resulting flash flood (thankfully minor) at one point on the road.

At first I thought it might be looking back on Ca130 from Mt Hamilton. In any case, it looks like a great road.

Kel, that has to be my favourite of all the custom VF/VFRs at VFRD. And there are a lot of talented builders here.

Colour me jealous that your fall wx is so lovely.
I am curios about the location. It reminds me of San Luis reservoir - I've ridden past it many times to Laguna Seca.
-
Methinks a spot of white paint will add some sparkle to your tricolore.
-
What a beautiful view. I've only had the chance to ride up Mt Hamilton once but would love to return. Btw, your shot is near identical to mine from back in '99. Hope the pavement is a bit smoother.

I love the stretch of PCH around Bodega Bay. Mind you, I love pretty much all of PCH ;-)

California's Highway 49 has some terrific stretches, especially this part just north of Bear Valley (I think). And it is surrounded by plenty of other great roads.
-
It's a lovely addition to your tricolore.
Those are embossed, right? If they are like other Honda graphics they came with an alignment guide.

It reminded me of the late '80's CBR1000F and a little snooping on the old interweb soon turned up this:

Foggy days have a magical feel - so long as the water remains in vapour form.
I'm guessing somewhere along PCH between Eureka and Crescent City.

Monitor Pass, as well as the other passes in California's Sierra Nevada mountains, are some of my favourite roads. You could spend many days exploring this part of the world. And why not? After all, nearby is Lake Tahoe to the north and Yosemite NP the south. Who could ask for anything more?

3rd generation are the best looking VFRs, if not the best functionally. Your's looks to be in very good nick. Take care when stripping any of the many bits of bodywork as there are a of fragile tabs and slots just waiting to spoil your day. Some folk had problems with either the speedo drive gearbox or cable. Some fuel tanks buzzed annoyingly at mid revs due to an internal bracket.

Hmm, I'd have sworn you'd taken the shot on the hill near the Corkscrew at Laguna Seca. Then I noticed you labelled it TMAC Week.
Another top shot from you, Brian.

Nice looking VFR - those 8th gen bikes are beginning to grow on me.
-
Hi Miguel, I miss my 5th gen, too.
Two questions: is that the remote adj for the rear shock attached to the passenger peg, and were there shorter brackets available for the trunk?
-
All those pesky numbers confuse me ;-)
Though, Sonora Pass is my favourite trans-Sierra pass.
-
Ah, yes, NorCal Hwy 108, Monitor Pass, is one of my favourite roads of the American West. And it's an action shot unlike my static ones.
-
That's a view that takes your breath away.
We mistakenly picked race week on our visit this summer. Looks like you had the mountain practically to yourself.
-
Lovely photo of a fantastic part of the US Southwest, SC. Was the road damp? It certainly looks like you had the place all to yourself.

That is a very tidy looking VF750. well done you.

Honda's VTR1000F is my 2nd favourite bike. I've switched back and forth between VFR 750/800 and VTR1000F several times since 1993. Always felt that a VFR with the engine of a VTR would make a great sport tourer. It sure worked for Ducati.
Still miss my '05 VTR:
