Fyi, this VFR had about 38K kilometres I bought the bike 2nd hand in late 2004 and almost 70K km in this photo. The bodywork looked really good but quite a few of the tabs were broken and I never did manage to successfully mend them. But the bike looked this nice when I sold it in mid-2009. I changed to the 1990 VFR graphic, from David Silver Spares, because it looks a lot better than the 1992 version.

The painted fork lowers had seen better days so I removed them before stripping the paint. I was going to spray them with clear but decided to leave them bare and see how they fared. A couple of years on they still looked perfect.© Lorne Black

This connector links the alternator 3-phase to the reg/rec. And this one has overheated a bit, and my money is on corrosion being the culprit.© Lorne Black

This is the starter relay connector on my '92 VFR750 and it had overheated and failed. Charging current from the reg/rec goes through it en route to the battery, so when it failed my battery kept discharging. I didn't find this little devil till after replacing the reg/rec and the battery. It is possible that the reg/rec was outputting too high a voltage but, imnsho, the fault was due to corrosion.© Lorne Black

My long gone '98 VFR800. This would have been soon after I bought it - the wheels were painted before I rode it home. Unfortunately, it was stolen just after New Year's day 1999.© Lorne Black

In June of 2012 I bought a set of Honda panniers - saddlebags, hard bags, luggage - from Honda of Bournemouth in the UK. My dealer couldn't get a white set from Honda Canada or any of the dealers they knew here or in the US. And American dealers that I contacted said the same - any colour but white. With all the taxes & duties they cost me ~$1300. After this summer's 7000 km trip to Laguna Seca, through heat & cold, dust & rain they were great. After 15 years using RKAccessories soft bags I am much happier.© Lorne Black
