  1. Wow. That is a very loose definition of "tech". Sounds more like a Parts Counter Associate.
  2. I need to get that forked plate, or make one. I manage, but I could manage easier.
  3. Mount em. Park it outside, bike on side stand, bars a little to the right. Walk a bit away and take a look. Sip that beer. I think they are trick and your bike is not stock.
  4. I would give it one more go with a new seal knowing that you're not installing/removing it multiple times over the top of the tube and being extra careful by wrapping the lip and groove. Then you will know for sure if you have to source another tube. and it might buy you more time as it may not leak as bad if it starts to leave a ring.
  5. You have taken away one very handy means of dialing in ergonomics for an individual, the ability to rotate the bars but still stay in the usable range without fouling the tank or upper cowl. If it's perfect for you now, that's awesome though! Funny, every time I look at the 2014+ VFR800 I immediately think about swapping in the more traditional upper clamp and bars. Every single one of my VFRs has the limiting lug removed from the bars so I can dial in the bar angles for my riding position.
  6. It will not be as bright as this. I will spray a charcoal metallic grey base coat to tone it down and the clear coat will mellow it a bit too. It's not a traditional bronze and it's not a "gold". I think it will really work with the custom paint (that has extra gold flake) and custom graphics. And if it doesn't... oh well. I'll just shoot another set of wheels in another experiment. The stock wheels are going to be wrapped and boxed. Here's a couple more shots of these 92 wheels that I just love. Dark Bronze Mist Metallic over that Bronze base with three coats of clear.
  7. When my 95 needs new tires I'm going to give it a shot. I have an 8-spoke and an extra front wheel that will get a bronze I found. I think it will pop with this bodywork. I shot it as a base coat for the color on the 92 wheels, so I was able to see it briefly on the same wheels. I have a shot of it somewhere before the final color and clear coats.
  8. Air filters are typically "as needed", aren't they? Do you live or work at the bottom of a strip mine or do you live in a mild climate with inherently less dust and a paved driveway? The same mileage will yield VERY different results and intervals.
  9. Is this the rag that you set the end of on fire?
  10. Cutting up a Staintune seems pretty blasphemous.
  11. Understandable. In 40+ years of riding and racing, on road and off road, I have had exactly zero clips come off. I have a specific procedure that I developed well before rivet links came around that works for me. I certainly have riveted chains too, but I have zero problems rocking a clip that I installed.
