  1. A bit off topic but applicable, I bought the Givi S430 kit to use the tank bags as a quick release tail bag. Just had to be mindful of flat bottom Givi tank bag and not ones that are angled for certain tank profiles.
  2. I used the BF03 attachment ring on my previous 2000. It's now on my 2007. You will need to get the outer ring that clips into the Givi bag also.
  3. Forks apart for inspection and refresh. Way over sprung for my weight. Andreani folks says the 10.3 springs with the kit are for 230lb rider or more. Yikes !!
  4. Click on Sweepers profile picture and that's the same motorbike.
  5. Odd thing on the seat cowl is that my friends 2008 is grey, but came that cowl from a 2007 RWB. I've also got a carbon look one from "off shore" and it fits rather nicely.
  6. No thanks, motorbike parts are a better investment. 🤑
  7. Friend bought a clean 2008 last weekend. Called me last night and said it came with a "box of parts" he didn't want or need. Some old forks, seat cowl and pegs and stuff. Made him an offer he accepted and he brought them over this morning. Had to hide my grin when I saw these forks because I usually miss getting goodies like this. 😁
  8. MC is correct via conversation with PO when I was looking to buy it. "...... McCruise electric cruise control. The cruise vacuum model needs to be cleaned. It's pretty straight forward but requires the fairings off. If you don't use it regularly, they will stick(why I'm not cleaning them). According to the designer, its our ethenal gas, I never spent any time on straight roads so it didn't get used.... "
  9. Just the nickname given by a PO. Not sure why as he could hustle it pretty good thru the mountain curves.
  10. That's "Ole Heavy". I almost bought it last year but it was too many hours away and I had just bought a Blackbird. Lots of tasteful mods on that VFR. Previous owner ( or 2 ago ) told me the cruise control vacuum *model* needed to be cleaned. Hence the non functioning. An effect of not using the cruise plus ethanol fuel.
  11. Reminds me of this.... lol
  12. Mega thanks, never noticed the spares tab before on that website.
  13. BTDT and it still arrives at the same $120 or so part that I'd personally rather not spend. 🙃
  14. Agree with Brad. I help a friend with his bike detailing business and we draw straws with these newer bikes. 30 to 45 job nearly doubles with all the nooks and crannies.
  15. Been trying to find a Hawk spacer for a while now, just for that purpose. Ebay and such have been dry for a some time now.
  16. Because if I go with white, I'm going to spend too much money on a 8 spoke rear. 😁 Plus a friend has white wheels on his 07 Anniversary. He did paint the front fender the same red as the accent stripe which looks good IMO.
  17. I got these for my son when he moved from NC to CO. Was hard not to buy them at basically $100 each. Then got me the Kobalt set as spares for myself. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-KBLT-297PC-MECH-TOOL-SET-3-drive-set-SAE-MM/5015031681 https://www.lowes.com/pd/CRAFTSMAN-159PC-Mechanics-Tool-Set/5014463527 This one pops up also for the Craftsman box... https://www.lowes.com/pd/CRAFTSMAN-VERSASTACK-Mechanics-Tool-Set/5014463547 Past few weeks I hit some yard sales looking for home gym equipment and was also able to score tons of wrenches, sockets and such for cheap.
  18. Looking at putting the grey / silver wheels on my 07 Anniversary. Must......resist.....white wheels.... Going to do annual coolant flush, brake bleed, oil and filter change stuff. Replace fork springs with proper weight spec rate and decide on a rear shock. Keeping this one so need good suspenders on it.
  19. Want to recall even the stubby Delkevic cans had removable dB killers. Check to verify they are out and if so, shout at Delkevic about a set in inserts. I've got LeoVince slipons on my 07 and to me, they offer the best rumble and I can slip out of the neighborhood each morning without complaints.
  20. Yup, pesky air bubbles are the enemy. One thing I do is also "burp" the lines at each banjo bolt. Especially if you had the calipers off. Also I push the brake pads back into the calipers to try and move any bubbles of air, then bleed again. And finish off with the old overnight zip tie around brake lever and handlebar method. And also overnight leverage on the brake pedal.
  21. ABS will have ring on right front as well as sensor same side.
  22. Not had an aftermarket one until this VFR. My FJR1300 has it stock. Will say that after riding the VFR with the gear indicator, I'll be adding to any bike that doesn't have one. Handy device for sure to keep me checking for 7th gear.
  23. This popped up on FBMP.. https://www.facebook.com/share/1C3rnAUSUN/
  24. IMO, the fuel gauge is accurate. Concerning the first bar, I've noticed mine will go away between 20-30 miles. Doesn't matter if I just fill it up or pack it full.I've learned not to obsess with that first fuel bar thing and just ride I commute 140 miles daily with about 85 / 15 split of highway and backroads. Usually at 75 mph on the highway and rpms are dead on 5,000 at that speed. Go consistently in the 200-210 mile range before the last bar is flashing and typically putting in 4.5-5 gallons.
  25. Maybe as simple as pulling one from your bike to check against?
