    Sliders

I have these on my 600 Hornet. I did not have to use them, but the previous owner did with no damage to the bike . I guess they passed the test.
  2. This is standard procedure and how I learned it. However, I cannot convince my kids to do it this way. Good old times!
  3. I completely agree. Here, I pay $52 to mount and balance a $104 tire, it is a joke. The worst part is that I usually have to rebalance the tire myself after checking the balance on my stand. I think, next time, I will go to a small independent Harley shop for $20 cash and balance it by myself

  5. Welcome to the forum from the Northeast. You got yourself a really nice bike. It should be more than a commuter bike.
  6. Yeah! Rub it in! Just got rid of 1 foot of snow and now ice rain tonight
  7. Welcome to the forum from the East Coast! Good choice!
  8. For those interested, Formula one teams did a lot of experimentation with velocity stacks in the 60ties. It was called air resonance charging if I remember correctly. The idea behind was that the air in a long stack with certain conical profile and diameter to length relation could be accelerated in the intake by resonance. There were even books in the engineering section of my school about it. I played with this many moons ago on my first underpowered car and limited funds. These were cool times
  9. Welcome from the East Coast! Nice bike, looks to be in great condition. What type of exhaust do you have mounted under the seat?
  10. ...and a really cool reference to the forum!
  11. Thank you for the tip, this will be easy then!
  12. This is cool, thank you. Now, I will have to find a printer to print it in a larger size than a standard paper sheet.

    Tire Set-Up

Not to add to more complexity. did you check the head bearings? Many many moons ago, I had a 250 which Was lazy to turn in. The problem was a too tight head bearing.
  14. I am with Progressive now for 4 years, the process to get coverage was very easy. I do not remember if there was a question about DL suspension. Cannot comment on claims as I did not have any (knock on wood!) Good Luck to you!
  15. Welcome and congratulations! Pictures? New 2019 sounds good.

  17. ...and I found few of these roads where I can practice my old skills and memory for speed!
  18. I use Stabil Marine grade, the bike usually starts on the first attempt after 4 months. I only use it for the last 2 tank fill ups before winterizing to make sure, it is inthe carbs. And, yes, trickle charger used during storage
  19. My 4th gen came with grip puppies on. After 2 rides I took them off. The handlebars were just too thick and I did not have the proper feel on the bike. I wear XL gloves, so no small hands here. I am totally happy with the OEM grips. This is just my personal opinion. I usually do not hold the bars tight and let the bike do its job. Elbows always slightly bent and above 60mph no pressure on the wrists/hands. Again, just my personal experience.
  20. My '97 came with grip puppies, I took them off after the second ride as I found the grips to thick and did not have a proper feel on the handle bars. I wear glove size XL. Just my personal experience. The other grips mentioned here are interesting
  21. Now, you got me infected! Where can I get this voltmeter? I want to put it on my '97. This is much cooler than a Digital one!
  22. Only over my dead body! If it does not add to performance, there is no place for it!
