  2. It's like your arteries clogging up. Injectors clog up, no running bike. Arteries clog up, no living human. Well at least your bike has a better chance of making it through. LOL I'm gonna take a leap and say its all the crap they put in gasoline. I wonder how my bike would react to gasoline back in the day. Before all the additives and such. Anybody know how many holes are in the 5th gen injectors?
  3. Those are "cushions." I should send off my vehicles injectors. I rebuilt the engine but cleaned the injector tips by just letting the tips sit in Sea Foam.

  6. Well there's a nice brand new '08 ninja 650r for a tad over $5 I'm looking at and I'm adding a/c and a turbo to my vehicle so I'm a little busy with spending money and time. LOL

  14. A gps unit is pretty much gps unit. There is only 2 companies that make maps for them (navteq and someon else). Both do a great job. Its the bells and whistles you're paying for. Yes some track a little bit better but if you're afraid of breaking it or something just happening to it, a cheap one will do just fine. The nuvi 200 is always on sale for $100. They ones you'd have to worry about vibes is GPS units that have harddrives. Although I run an iWay 500 (harddrive) with no problems.
  15. I know that. I was just stating that a puller fan is more effiecent than a pusher fan. Of course how our bike's rads are set up it doesnt help. LOL I'm going with a bigger oil cooler this summer.
  16. Well after reading this I got all confused with everyones replies pushing air, pulling air. I'll check my own bike tomorrow but anyways if the stock fan "pulls" air from outside the fairing and into the engine bay then that is a puller fan and thats the best setup to have. A pulling fan is a lot better at cooling then a pushing fan. If the VTR fan pushes the air from the engine bay to the outside of the fairing then its now a pushing fan. The reason it's probably cooling better is the fan blades. They are bigger/wider and may have a different degree angle so its able to move more air at a higher cfm rating.

  18. Yup. Bringing this topic back alive. I found these at Autozone and O'Reiley's. Dorman Vacu-Tite! #47309 They're around $1.70 each.
  19. Just a follow up. Bike has been running fine. I got a BARO sensor off of ebay for cheap so I'll see if the code goes away. I havent had any jerkin/hiccups so far. Keeping my fingers crossed.

  21. I've always been told that metal filters (high psi) are for EFI and platic filters (low psi) are for carbs. Theres nothing different from the stock filter and this one. Cut open the stock filter and I bet ya its paper just like 90% of fuel filters are.
  22. Ok. I'm still narrowing down my hiccuping bike. I pulled the filter and continously spraying it with carb cleaner. Tons of micro metal shavings kept coming out and I got tired of cleaning. I found this filter at autozone for around $3. Pretty simple. Take out the assembly (complete PITA!!) and just be careful with everything. The stock filter has a diameter around 39mm and this filter is around 43mm. They are the same length. For the bend I added 1 foot of EFI hose 5/16" (high psi). I looked into cutting it down but worried about kinking it. You can't screw the bracket around the filter so just bend the arm back as tight as possible. I'm sure its not gonna go anywhere. Now I'm sure there's a filter out there thats the same size but my bike is my only ride right now so I had to finish. Seems to idle better and should last. Here's a pic of a Fram filter I found at Walmart but its 8mm smaller in diameter. I thought it would be better to have a bigger filter than a smaller filter. (not the one I used)

  24. I would run it like that, but I dont know if there'd be enough back pressure for the engine and I sure as hell dont want to burn up some valves. You could just go to autozone and get a bent tail exit and face the exit towards the back. I might try that. And for the noise police, there are Harley/cruisers louder than our bikes. My mom's neighbor just busted out his harley and I swear its just pipes. Dam that thing was so loud it made my ears hurt and I was more than 30 ft away and he was getting farther away.
