  1. So. I know it's NOT a VFR, but we're all motorcyclists, and people know people, meaning other motorcyclists. Plus, if I were to sell this, it's actually going to be to fund an upcoming build ... either RC30 or RC45 replica, built from a "donor" whose parts collection is gathering nicely! Leaning RC30, but a harder build to pull off! Anyways, any interest, or know of any interest, send them and/or the questions my way! Thanks Peoples!! EDIT: Apparently, I needed to be more specific in WHAT this is?? This is a rare, vintage, collectible bike. Rare 2 stroke triple. 750cc scream machine! Rare early water cooled bike (got the moniker, the "Water Buffalo"). Also dual discs in front, which I believe all these models had? But still rare in 1973! Needs to be completely gone through, but is 100% there! NOT an easy find. Go ahead and look for yourself. In the pics, the first few is how it looked when I got it, and again now. I had to take a bunch of stuff off, just to be able to move it! Exhaust, to get a stand under it, to get the wheel/chain off of it. Just ended up taking a bunch of stuff off, to make cleaning everything up easier. So I included an "inventory pic" of that as well. Cleaned all that stuff a bit, and also just to assess general condition of parts, as well as familiarize myself with bike. Included a few of my mock ups/tinkering. I put it all back together, including a new tube and used tire on the front, so could actually move it around easily ... versus barely! A History: It was my brother's bike, he passed away a couple years ago,, he bought it mid/late '80s, from either the original or 2nd owner? Can't remember? He rode it off and on, less than a year, and parked it. And that's it! Was sitting, outside, uncovered, @ 30ish years. That said, all there! Down to the key! Has @ 16-17k, which I figure to be accurate, knowing it's history. It has expansion chambers on it(that need rebuilding), and the airbox is gone, replaced by pod filters. Other than that, all original! Oh, forgot, it was painted sometime before my brother got it, so original paint long gone. It's still in his name, have older registration for it, but not a hardcopy of the title. I just held off, until deciding what to do with it? I cannot remember if I checked on DMV fees? There likely are, unless it got purged by now? But would just filing for a lost or duplicate title, and/or transfer of ownership. As I said above, I had to start disassembling it in order to first move it, then more so to move it around. Pulled more off to gain access for cleaning, plus clean those parts better too. That's about as far as I went with it. Minus some mock ups and playing with ideas in the middle, put it back as it was ... and it sits in wait again. I'm going to be accepting offers on it, and depending on interest etc., will likely try to coordinate a time that works, to show it once. I'll need to get it out of my storage, load it up, then show it. Don't plan to have to take it back to the storage. I will refrain from showing it to people individually before that, unless serious, and the offer is serious?? Offers, all reasonable ones, will be considered. This will not be happening 'til the end of the week, Friday at the earliest. Questions are welcome. I have more pics, but the basics are covered. Specific questions on pics welcome. Let me know? Thanks in advance!
  2. So, not really a "project"? More "cosmetic project" or make over? Issues only limited to skin deep. Good: 2000 VFR800 (Interceptor), coveted 5tht Generation, just crossed 17k. Nearly all stock, except Micron Carbon High Oval, K&N filter, all emissions removed or modified, levers. I bought 2 years ago, rode for a few months, then sat most of a year, then been riding it off and on all year. No issues, at all! Tires have lots of life (see below). My own design for the paint scheme, but was not "done yet". Meaning this was the layout process ... still looks pretty good? It's a Honda!! Bad: Several months back, an impromptu U-turn had me find the unseen gravel in the median. Low speed, lowside, 5-10mph, left side. Almost all just cosmetic, scrapes/cracks to upper/side. Fairing stay bent, but since straightened. 2 months back, mystery lowside, leaving intersection, turning right. Prob under 20mph, but under acceleration, and she went for a looooong slide! Again, same type damage, just more of it. Also another fairing stay straightening. This side, the right, also got various bits, brake pedal, footpeg, pass. peg, exhaust. I did a quick "Fraken-fix" on most of it, to prevent more cracking, and to hold it all together. Not pretty. Function. Actual repairs were to come later. So, as I said, bike has no issues really beyond cosmetic. Tires look good, been garaged, but are several years old. Just saying. It's registered through March '24, clean title in my name, sitting in my garage. This is my baby, or was supposed to be. She is the last one I want to go, have others up for sale, but if they don't move first, or the offer is right ... off she goes! Will likely add more pics later, or can send specific, damage etc. Will add at least a general pic of that in more detail. All REASONABLE OFFERS considered! I will sell her, but again, DO NOT want to. You'll have to pry her away with the right amount of CASH!! Keep in mind, BEFORE the "bad" ... the price would had been in the $4500-5500 range. And yes, I KNOW that that was BEFORE that stuff. Again I'm reasonable? Let me know? Thanks in advance! WHOOPS! Almost forgot ... the bike would come with the Corbin seat, which also comes with the little backrest. I do have a bunch of extras, the seat in the pic, etc., but those are EXTRA! Negotiable ... but EXTRA! *Sargent 2pc seat w/matching yellow piping *Solo seat cover, in matching yellow (2) *Givi 46L rear case with hardware kit for bike, in matching yellow (of course!)
  3. So, this bike, technically, has had only one owner ... but I am the 3rd person to possess it. Nothing shady, I have all the details and paperwork. Original owner bought at Mallots M/C in Manteca in 2000, owned for a year or so, crashed it at fairly low speed avoiding a deer. Cosmetic damage primarily, instruments (tach really) needs replacing, tank needs replacing (but more so from the inside regardless of the outside condition, and outside is much worse since pics), right hard bag took the hit, and was already replaced with brand new/never installed. But the original owner was done with it, so he sold it to his co-worker, my brother in law. He transferred it into his name, and that was it, never rode it, never did anything with it. That was in like 2002-2003? So it has a clean title, NOT SALVAGED, in his name. I got it from him the year before this, and went through it all slowly. Actually, was riding it around quite a bit throughout the year. Runs great now! Good: 1997 Honda V4 with less than 9k original miles! Lots of extras. Stock 2pc seat, can run as a solo, Mustang 2up touring seat, hard bags, Honda luggage/backrest w/2 different pads. Did I say V4? Did I say Honda?? I went through pretty much everything, fluids, adjustments, etc. Carbs were fun! Yes, this is still a carbureted motorcycle! As I said, it runs good! I know!! Bad: Damage: Tank works, but is full of rust/scale, and BEAT UP! I did use this as an operational tank though, just had to constantly clean external filters to keep it from the carbs. NOTE! Tank in pics is not in that condition (outside) still, and has always been on the replacement list. Tach and/or gauge set needed, but again fully functional. OEM brake lever was bent bad, replaced, but that too has since suffered. Was a nice set of wide levers I found. Clutch lever perfectly fine. Front fender small scrapes, one or both tips of exhaust, light scrapes, T/S scraped, rear brake pedal bent/scraped. Tires are OEM! So like from 6/1996!! Registration is NOT non op'd! So for title/registration/DMV, it's in the $800-1000 range! Why I hadn't dealt with that yet! Figure do the transfer/sale/DMV in one shot. If I was keeping it, I'm estimating tires/tank/registration is in the $1500 area. If I needed ANOTHER bike, it would be worth it. Also, keep in mind, if that were all done ... it would be in the $3000-4500 range. Again, I'm reasonable ... so make the offers reasonable. Questions are welcome. I may end up trying to just do one "showing" at the end of the week, to all those interested? If there's enough interest/people? Bike is in my storage, so I only want to take it out once ... and I don't want to put it back!! Let me know? Thanks in advance!
