  1. That magazine article sealed my desire to buy an 8th gen VFR. I wore that issue out !
  2. Thanks Grum. Always appreciate your technical expertise and insights.
  3. Both CCTs were replaced at the 60k service...wouldn't be suprised if the valve check ( at 92k ) wasn't even done....but I was surely paid a lot of $$$ for the service !
  4. I thought I might weigh in on this discussion. I’ve had the valves adjusted twice. Once at 60k mi ( I was very pleased with the result...a private garage that did stellar work ) and again at 92k mi ( Not pleased at all, never ( ever ) going back to that dealer for service ). I’m currently showing 117300 on the odometer and this is what my VFR sounds like. V1 Cold start....ambient air temperature about 50F V2 Idling after the cold start...ominous knocking sounds from the valve train. V3 Idling after riding 150 mi through the country side. My VFR still runs strong, uses no oil, and delivers about 50 mpg. This is not a “RTF” experiment, been referred to a good private mechanic who hopefully Can Do justice to the VTEC. You guys who claim 100k ( mi ? kilometers ) with no valve adjustments are lucky ducks ! V1.MP4 V2.MP4 V3.MP4
  5. Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'. VFR owners ride and enjoy their machines,
  6. I too like the look of the R7 anniversary edition....actually I'd have the R3, R7, and R1 with the anniversary treatment. Naaah. I can only ride one and my 8th gen is still the one !
  7. That last pic looks a lot like WV or OH to me ! I can't wait for my next trip to the west coast !
  8. This news comes as a shock. Many Heartfelt Thanks for this forum. All the support and camaraderie. The VFR concept is a great one and deserves a great community.
  9. My last mileage entry for 2023.... Only 10,500 mi of riding this year....too much work and a health issue conspired to keep it low.... Can't wait for spring of 2023 !
  10. Rolled my VFR out into fresh snow for an obligatory photo op !
  11. Final Odometer Reading for 2021... Keep the good times and the VFR miles rolling !
  12. Hi RC79NC001, Thank you for your donation of 100.00 USD. We look forward to improving the forums with your donation. Thanks VFRDiscussion
  13. The most significant unscheduled maintenance has been the valve adjust at 60000 mi. Otherwise Synthetic oil every 4000 mi and a new oil filter every 8000 mi. Suspension front and rear upgraded at 18000 mi and refreshed at 60000. This is a wonderful motorcycle....
  14. Forum members please ignore my last posted references to MotoGP anything... That sounds ridiculous... I just don't use my back brake....much. and prefer CL pads when the fronts wear out. TGIF !!!
  15. Here's my front pad only history. Original Pads replaced at 33801 Mi with Ferodos ,did not care for the way the Ferodos felt. They were replaced after 18290 Mi with CL set 1. Ferodos replaced at 52091 Mi with CL Pads. CL1 set 1 was replaced after 20200 Mi with CL set 2. The pads you see in the picture are CL1 at the end of life and CL2 at the beginning. The CLs suit my aggressive MotoGP wannabe style. I suspect the rear pads will remain OEM well into the 100k mi zone.. I watch a lot of MotoGp and try to copy the style.....discreetly on the street. Suspension upgrade in 2018 probably a factor in increased riding aggression...and resulting tire wear/ brake pad life.
  16. After 72000 mi on my VFR the rear pads are still original and mostly unused....
  17. Replaced old carbone lorraine front brake pads with new carbone lorraine front brake pads. I think I got my money's worth out of the old pads !
